I've written about this guy before, but I'll go over it again. I don't have the exact dates so I'll guess as close as I can. Somewhere around the late 90's or early 2000 a guy that lives down the road from me was arrested in West Memphis,Arkansas for killing a prostitute. A witness saw him throw her out of the cab of his 18-wheeler. He was convicted or pled guilty and received a 20 year sentence of which he served six years in the Arkansas State Penal system. He was then paroled back to Mississippi under the watchful eye of the Mississippi Department of Corrections. While here he went on a stealing spree, failed to meet his parole officer in a timely manner, rusted out several pee cups, and raped and attempted to kill a streetwalker who refused to testify against him. Myself, several other officers, and the local DA's office attempted on numerous occasions to get Arkansas to come get him for parole violations. Finally after three years of effort they came and got him and took him back to Arkansas where they held him for nine months and then sent him back here. He's been back here for about nine months.

This morning our department was notified by the Missisippi Bureau of Investigation that some officers from Florida were here and they wanted to pick this POS up. It seems he left a little DNA on a dead girl or two in Florida. He was arrested at 0100 and taken to the Ms. Highway Patrol station in Hattiesburg for questioning. I wasn't involved in this investigation and don't know where he is now.

The guys ex-wife was blabbing that she helped burn the clothes taken from the body of a girl who was thrown off a mountain somewhere. When questioned about this she denied saying it. The perp was a truck driver and traveled many states, mostly in the southeast. Any unidentified victims who may have been a prostitute or hung around truckstops and may have been found near major highways might just have this guy's name on them. I have long suspected that he is a serial killer, just couldn't prove it. If you want his name and the name and number of the Ms. officer who dealt with him e-mail me. It's not my case but I can point you in the right direction.

Disgusting that he only served six years for murder.

Albuquerque has a pretty high profile case right now. Last body count I saw was 16, all suspected prostitutes, all buried in the desert west of town. Unknown if they have any parties of interest though.

Unfortunately, prostitutes are very vulnerable, and truck drivers are mobile enough to go on killing for years before someone catches up with them.

MKT, that case came to mind for me, also. When I heard about it a few days ago, the first thing I thought was that the perp was a trucker. Albuquerque has a large number of prostitutes around the truck stops, and is the junction of two interstate highways, one of which (I-40) is very busy. Lots of drivers go through Albuquerque twice a week, going from the midwest to LA and back.

Charlie, if your department is a member of ROCIC ( Regional Organized Crime Information Center ) they should contact them for some assistance.
In 1994-1995 I arrested a serial murderer/truck driver (Sean Goble) and worked with Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and ROCIC to coordinate our investigations and disseminate information. Their work uncovered at least one other murder for which Goble was responsible. ROCIC has a lot of assets, especially in putting together time lines, etc., for court presentation. They're also a repository for information and can liaise with other agencies and handle inquiries.
Good luck.

Jaycee this one is not our case. We've got several unsolved in this area but the one they nailed him on is a 1987 Florida case. All the necessary steps are being taken to share info. The one he did time on was in Arkansas. He is a suspect in many more and I won't be surprised at the final tally. I'm glad to not have him as a neighbor anymore. Truckum is right, these guys can cover a lot of ground for a long time before they get caught.

Charlie, Checkin' our open files at post tonite,
I'll see what we got.

Good to meet you at Louisville on Saturday.

All of us working together can put this guy away.

Regards
Dave

We have one missing person that could be a victim of a person such as this. Can you email me details? Thanx.

Goble was a very interesting fellow. That's all I'll say.

I'd like to just one day see the kind of guy that can murder someone and just throw the body out of a truck.

That part of West Memphis with the two truck stops across the highway from each other is one of the nastiest places on the Earth. The T/A in Albuquerque isn't much better, sometimes.

(posted, I suppose, just to get this back to the top. a lot of good folks driving trucks in this country and I'm damn glad to be out of that business.)
