I just can't see dropping $2K on something like that. If I can't shoot it, it has little value to me. Also, these commemorative items rarely bring even their purchase price when sold later.

I guess if you like it, get it. It's just not my flavor.

I have one...and since it was missing the coin and the box was a bit dinged up, it's a shooter, which is fine with me since I only paid $285 for it at a pawn shop and I don't have to worry about keeping it pristine. I even auctioned off these grips a few years back to help a member here...now I'm just trying to figure out what to do with the box...maybe I can keep sewing stuff in it...:)

Then:

And now:

A lot or all of them are money makers first for the outfit that sells them and then to the washed out stars or their familys or whatever that get a kick back. I wont name names but there has been quite a number now of actors getting in on it. I dont consider a gun to be real historical unless it was the very one used in some event he was in. Not one that never seen action but sat in a safe. That includes the murphy gun I had. It would be nice to get $40,000 or whatever I could though if I still had it!

I wouldn't mind it so much but, ive never had one of those commemoratives before. Trouble is--is it would be too hard for me not to try that piece out for size. I guess if I never intended selling it later? ruining some of the value a little, wouldn't bother me.

That's a right pretty piece too.

For me, I guess it just depends on the money situation at the time. If I get my poster sold at auction? then I can easily get one.

Could you imagine what a Sean Penn Tribute would sell for? :D

Well, since we are far outnumbered with libs, I would say they are missing a sure bet! Now that gives me a idea of how to introduce them to the gun world. Its odd but realistic as most of them will do anything for a buck on the screen!

Thats partly why ill never watch sean penn, and matt damon in another movie.

When I was a boy in the 40s and 50s I didnt go to movies. My folks were staunch fundamentalist`s. I even remember riding somewhere with them and a theater was showing I think, the ten commandments. My dad suggested we go but mom said no, even if its a clean movie by paying for a ticket you are supporting the entire ungodly industry. Seems I asked her if she walked in a shoe factory and interview all the workers to see if they were saved before buying that brand! Then after I left home I found myself working as a guard for Universal Movie studios for awhile. I probley met countless stars and BSed with them without recognizing who they were. I know I did that with Brian Keith. I worked on "the rare breed". I asked a guy, hey, I see that Brian Keith is in this film but havent seen him yet. He said Oh yeah? Well I just seen you BSing with him for the last 15 minuets! He was wearing a red beard etc and I hadnt reconized him. When I seen him a little later we had a good laugh over it. Thinking about I recall Jimmy Stewart buying my lunch on that set.

What is an "Acer" at walmart??

Its one of the computers they sell there. One imlooking at is about $300 or so--the other is slightlu under $400. I dont know which ill go for? but I dont need a lot of extras on a lap top.
