Just recently installed a Fort Knox Auto Pistol Box. Auto Pistol Box - Fort Knox

WOW - what a nicely made product. It fits perfectly in my car's console and gives me some piece of mind for those occasions when I may have to leave my CCW in the car.

Only down side is the one I had to pick is small on the inside (but I didn't have a choice due to where I mounted it) and the buttons seem flimsy but that could be me. No regrets - money well spent and comes with a lifetime warranty.:o

Has anyone else purchased one of these FT Knox safes? Any problems?

Cheers!

That looks really heavy duty. I've just got one of those cheapo lockboxes you can buy at the big box stores with a steel cable that wraps around the seat frame. Yours is definitely more secure, but the cheap ones are harder to break into than I would have expected. I know because I lost the keys to one with my carry pistol inside. Took me awhile with a hammer an pry bar to get it out.

IF I figured it out correctly based on the specs I think the door is 7 gauge steel and the body 10 gauge.... and weighs 13 lbs!

You know what this means don't you!?! If a thief can't break into or steal the safe, they will probably just take the whole car. :D

I can offer this idea for the hardware. It would probably work well for your console mount too.
