Anyone know where I can find a Smith and Wesson
945-1 in 3.75" stainless?

These seem to be difficult to find. It can't be black because that isn't on our stupid PRK list.

There is no such thing as a 3 3/4" 945 in stainless. They were only made with an alloy frame.

The 4" ones are all stainless and there was one the other day on GB for a good price.

Ok, I just thought I would share what I have found so far on the 945-1's in 3.75".

With the help of a member on another forum, I have determined that none of the 945-1's in 3.75" barrels have the model number stamped on the outside of the frame.

It might be that Smith and Wesson stamped the frame under one of the grips or on the inside. Not sure.

I am planning on contacting Smith and Wesson next week on this.

A fellow member on another board bought a 945 at a dealer in 2003 and it was apparently a 945-1. Serial number begins with RS which matches the serialization information I have that RSR Wholesale bought the run of stainless/alloy silver 945-1's.

Camfour bought the black ones with serial number CMFxxxx

There were only 2 runs of these guns. One run for Camfour in black and one run for RSR Wholesale in stainless/silver.

Product codes 170156 and 170169.

So, it is my opinion, because I now know of 2 people that bought these right from a dealer, that all of these firearms are 945-1's and are legal in the state of California.

Next week, I will call Smith and Wesson and ask them about this to confirm.

There is no stamping of the 945-1 on either of mine. The designation is on the slide only.
They were both manufactured in 2000 (Edition #3)

Below is my new addition, a 945-40 ( number 0046, out of a total of less than 200 as told to me by a S&W rep) . It was filthy when I got it, and it appeared that someone tried to force an incorrect mag into the well and bent the trigger loop, so when you put the mag. in the loop dragged along the magazine when you pulled the trigger, making it about a 8lb tirgger pull. Anyway a complete disassebly and a little tweaking hear and there and a perfect 3.5 tigger pull Trigger loop is back to where it should be. I hope the pic comes out...If not I'll try again

Looks like it came out fine, other than my spelling errors. My Thanks to Bob for the info on the availability of this one

Can anyone estimate what these would retail for?

Like I said in my other post. If you can find one for a round a grand you will be doing very well indeed.
