Are you kidding? There's a shortage of all M&P's. I ordered my M&P22 over a year ago and am still waiting....

I was told at a gun shop today that they can't get any M&P's. That occasionally they'll get one or two.

When I asked him why, he blamed "Top Shot" increasing the demand over S&W production.

Must depend on your location. The shop I bought my new range kit in today had them in stock. They look and feel great. It's next on my list.

My wife ordered my M&P9c from Streicher's 2 weeks before Christmas, it came this week.

This thread prompted me to call Express Police and ask for an update to my order.....

They have an answering machine that says they are now out of business!!

The website is still up, and everything on it seems to be in stock, no backorders....

They have M&P .45's for $499 and M&P .40's for $398, and that is it for M&P's.

I'm really glad I picked one up. Which episode of Top Shot featured the 9C? I watch often and must have missed this one.

It was the 45 ACP Full Size if I remember right. How that one episode could create so much buzz to wipe out S&W's entire M&P inventory... Always fun to hear what story a retail worker will cough up.

M&P's are not impossible to find but they have gotten rather rare... No more can you pick a model from the website and rely that you'll be able to find it in town or online right away. You either have to bend to what's in stock or wait indefinitely...

The M&P 22 is a different animal. It' newish, and it's manufactured by Walther. The 2nd run of those guns is out now and you should be able to find it online almost anywhere and probably soon in most gun shops that stock M&P.

They have been hard to find unless you are looking for the models with the thumb safety, they seem to be easy to find.

Most of the distributors I deal with have been out of stock for a while on the majority of models. Jerry's Sports got in a shipment of M&P 9 209301s this week. When I first noticed they had these on Wednesday they had 23 in stock as of this writing they are down to 2.

Bud's had them in stock last month when I bought mine. Thumb safety ( which I wanted) @ $478 free shipping.
Note: Bud's charged me $14.34 for using my Visa card.

I believe they just got a very large order from the military (for full size) and also christmas demand was very high, so I would assume that slows down production on every other gun they make too.

Bud's Police has some .40c and .40fs in stock, and I think I saw a .45. All have night sights or Crimson Trace. Nights sight models are at $455. I would suspect they also come with three mags.

I hope the get some 9c's in, the LE version is about $80 less than at there retail site, and they come with 3 mag's.
I am on there waiting list.

I talked to S&W at the SHOT show about the M&P shortage and they acknowledged it. They explained it as just increased demand. Said it was created multiple lines of business, no one thing. They are doing there best to crank them out.

I just received an e-mail from S&W saying my M&P9 was shipped for Monday delivery. I ordered it direct from them in mid October. They told me when I ordered it that they were on back order and it would take awhile.
