Pretty much all of the States already have laws on the books regarding firearms,ammo and capacity.I don't believe a Clnything the Feds try to do can supersede State laws or Constitution.
This is just stirring the pot to keep it in the news.In 2009 the Dems controlled everything and a similar attempt only got 40 votes.
It all just means that we should remain vigilant and get out to vote in the 2018 midterms.
Well this is not quite true. If the Fed law is in conflict with a State law the Fed law rules per Article VI of the Constitution under the Supremacy Clause. So yes, the states can pass whatever laws they want and it will stand up IF it is not in conflict with any Fed law. That's why CA and NY and NJ can do what they do. Now how NJ can enforce a ban pretty much controlling transporting a firearm through the state is beyond me. But it's going to cost you a LOT of money proving them wrong if you're caught.
