Back Door Gun Control via the EPA

I just seen this and wondering if anyone else has?

This may impact the price of anything that contains lead like ammo and car batteries.

Then there maybe the imports which will be taxed very heavy if they make it into the country.

I like Allen West but he is a bit off the mark on this one.

80 percent of lead used in the United States comes from the secondary recycled market which is what ammunition manufacturers use. The closing of the Herculaneum facility could have an impact as far as demand for primary lead is concerned — but it's doubtful that will affect the ammunition market. It's a stretch to say that the EPA forcing a Missouri plant to shut down is a "back door" ploy to enact stricter gun control.

You people need to take this serious. The EPAs anti-lead campaign isn't to protect the enviornment, it's to take ammo componants out of the equation, resulting in a great reduction in ammunition.
Right now you have laws passed in California outlawing lead bullets for hunting, with the next step being personal protection and target ammo
in the upcoming months, and this WILL spread from state to state.
No matter how pro gun your governor is , you are only one election away from sliding down the proverbial slippery slope .
Already , laws are being written and enacted to change the chemical composition of primers used in bullets to a lead free composition. This will limit the shelf life . It's being done to "protect the enviornment" .
The U.S military is testing and soon to be adapting "green ammunition" that will contain no lead . The UN small arms treaty , soon to be ratified by congress in 2014 , will stop all importation of foreign made ammunition and ammunition making componants, such as lead bullets , and powder .
New taxes and permits are soon to be required to purchase ammo in 27 states , along with background checks for every ammo purchase.and their will be a limit to the ammount you can purchse , and posses .
Already people are being arrested in D.C for being in possesion of empty shell casings if they do not own a registered firearm.
The back door gun grab is well underway , by simply taking the ammo out of the equation. WAKE UP PEOPLE. THIS IS REAL . FIGHT IT ,DAMN IT !!!!

It has wiltered and almost all it's leaves are gone.
The brances have become weak and many have fallen .
Their is not a branch strong enough to hold up our beloved bald eagle .
Their are many in this country today , who the uninformed have voted in to power, who urinate on our tree of Liberty , and people look to those men to tell us what we can and can not do .
Those men poision our precious tree of Liberty.
Most people no longer care . All they want to know is, who is going to be on "dancing with the stars tonight" or whos going to win "American Idol" . These people drive to work everyday in their little Hondas and Hundais and are content to bend over and drop their pants when requested to do so, without question.
Americans have become soft..weak . Values have gone down the tiolet.

It's not pretty , but we are at a fork in the road right now .
You have a choice ..you can be a slave , or a free man .
YOU decide . Don't let anybody else decide for you .
The bill of rights were not given to us by the gov. They were meant as
an affirmation of what our god given rights as human beings are , in this country.

Talk to everyone in the middle of the road and convince them with facts to vote with us. The 20% anti's can't be changed. The 20% of us that still believe in America don't need convinced. We must work on the 60% in the middle that can go either way. Those are the ones we swing our way with facts and level headedness. I looked up some data on lead poisoning. It is not a pretty picture. One of the fun facts is that it effects children, and you may not even know it. They just don't reach their full mental potential.

It's much better to let the Chinese smelt lead,buy it cheaper from them,and save our dwindling supply of ore for the future. Not everything is a plot to take guns away and destroy the Bill of Rights. Some things are just right to do. Removing a source of poison from our environment seems wise.

Most lead bullets mfg in USA are made using recycled lead. Texas has had anti lead ammo laws for water fowl for yrs.
Lets not get all worked up over nothing folks.
The amount of lead entering the environment from ammo is nil the stuff comes out of the ground to begin with remember.

Did you protest the 1968 gun control act? I did.

How about the 1984 assault weapons ban? Fought that one too.

I also actively supported the passing of the McClure-Volkmer Act, with hundreds of letters and phone calls.

My point is, this isn't new. It's been going on since 1930. To come on here and act like your the only one that's doing anything is a little presumptive. Again I ask, what are you doing? I notice your not a member of the NRA or a site supporter. Do you visit your State and local elected officials? I do. Write letters? (not the bulk email type, actual letters).

I'm not trying to be hard on you, but your post bespeaks of youth. I see from your profile your in your 40's. That surprises me. Don't paint with such a broad brush, you'll always get some on you.

BTW, I live 14 miles from the Doe Run Plant.

You may want to check the facts on that. Unless I'm messing my UN arms treaties up, a large number of Senators, who would have to ratify the treaty, have already written Obama telling him it's dead on arrival and won't be ratified. One report on Senate support is here.

No offense but, just read many of the postings here and you will "see" many of those Patriots you desire. In fact, I think about 99% of the people on this site are true patriots. I am an oath keeper and NOTHING is going to change my stance!

Id think again, Americans are VERY irked and frustrated and possibly more motivated than ever. We will see for sure in 2014.

Sure, phone calls, joining organizations , waiting a few months to vote in the next big election, that might make some folks feel like they did something for the cause. And it certainly doesn't hurt .I am sure those kinds of tactics worked out great in 1775 , and stopped the British cold in their tracks . Why I bet ol Johnny Hancock himself made over a hundred phone calls , and it's well documented that Sam Adams used to stay up late at night trying to get his trans-Atlantic telegraph messages straight to King Georges personal secratary, pleading his case for why we no longer want to be overran by a Tyranical King .
Humor aside..
All I am saying is that this is a much more serious issue than most people think . Most people's heads are burried so far in the sand that they do not see what is going on . Their are two diffrent kinds of supporters of the second amendment. Those that think it can be defended with phone calls, petitions, electing NEW politicians in office, etc. Then their are those who know that in the end, all those rational ideas will fail, because the game is rigged . Not only is the other team your enemy, but the referess and your own coach is playing for the other side.
Once the second amendment goes, the country is gone.
Are you prepared to go to the next step if need be ?
If not, you are only a second amendment supporter when it's convienient for you . If you are not willing to go in the trenches,
and die if need be , then how can you call yourself a patriot.
You are only a "paper patriot"

All across this country , we are seeing the second amendment being erroded away , and the only resistance was phone calls, petitions, joining organizations, picket signes, and hopes of new politicians sharing your same ideals and beliefs .
It didn't work out so well for states like New York, California, New Jersey, Colorado ,etc.
When the states passed laws that infringed on the second , the people just went along with it . EVERYBODY needs to resist actions that violate the constitution or the bill of rights . Even if you are not a gun owner, and even if you hate guns, as an American, you have an obligation to support and defend the constitution and bill of rights.
No government can defeat 330 million people , and if you kow you are in the right , then stand tall . Stand up for the first amendment , the second amendment..all of them .
Those aren't just a few words written on an old crumbly piece of paper .
They carry FAR more weight than that . They were written down for a reason . The bill of rights were not given to us by gov. They are an affirmation of automatic rights we have as human beings living in a free society . They can't be taken away from us by any Gov, foreign or domestic.
The ONLY reason we are a free nation is the second amendment .
Once it goes YOUR freedom goes with it .
