Snooty update

Well wife and I decided tonight to put Snooty to sleep tomorrow. When she was trying to eat tonight she screamed in pain and clawed at her mouth. It broke my heart to see her in pain. Thanks to everyone for your kind posts.

Sincere condolences. It's so hard to do, and yet so often the only loving action to take. I think it's part of the contract we make with our beloved pets, part of caring for them.

My condolences.

When it was my Nik's time she had let me know, now it was time for me to honor the 18 years she'd been a loyal, loving member of my family. I had a vet come to the house, a beautiful day in early May. We, (me, my 2 dogs, Niki and the vet) all had a 'picnic' outback, Nik had some tuna juice and a some water. We said our last goodbyes and I held her while she was given the shot, she passed in my arms. Hard as it was, it was the kindest thing I could have done. Niki's ashes occupy a place of honor on a shelf in my bedroom.

I have tears running down my face right now. I just relived what you may experience tomorrow. Stay strong and be with her till the end.

You'll be in my prayers.

It's the worst time of the year for news like this. I'm sure sorry.

"Remember, you're doing the right thing for your friend. Don't second guess your decision." (I've received that advice a time or two from the vet and it has always helped me to recall it.)

Thank you for giving this cat a good home. TWO YEARS in a rescue. That's like being in prison, for a cat, no matter if they seem happy there.

I'm so sorry this has happened. Feed her tuna, (not TOO much) sardines, and other treats. Her time is limited; at least she should eat really well.

Snooty update

Snooty passed away a couple of days before Christmas, broke my heart. Patty and I talked about getting another rescue cat and decided that at our age 81 and 78 it might not be a wise decision. A cat can live a long time and will out live us both. We decided three days ago to get another cat a the same shelter that we adopted Snooty from, after talking to our widowed daughter in law she said she would give the cat a good home if the cat out lived us. I would say thats a pretty safe bet. Went to the shelter three days ago a adopted a little four month old tabby kitten named Nicole. She is a little sweet heart and sitting on my lap as I type this. My heart is still broken but the healing has begun. Thanks to all you good folks for sharing this trying time with me.

I'm sure Snooty has had a good life, mainly because she crossed paths with you. When the time comes, I wish her God Speed & prayers for you & yours.

You're a good man jarhead, for giving Snooty a good home and sharing a good percentage of your life's journey with him. One can't ask for more than that.
