I bought a box of .40 caliber 155 gr JHP in the Remington High Terminal Performance.

50 rounds came in @ $32.10 with tax included.

How’s the expansion? Would they be OK for carry ammo?

I entered "155 gr JHP Remington High Terminal Performance" into my Search-O-Matic, and this, after several seconds of whirring noises, is what came out:

"Muzzle Velocity 1205 Feet Per Second
Muzzle Energy 499 Foot Pounds"

That looks ok to me. That should do the trick ok/fine, as far as reliable controlled expansion is concerned.

I use UW 582 foot-pounds in my 40 Shield and G27.

I tried to find a review on that ammo, and couldn’t. Shoot a few into milk jugs and see what happns.

Seems like a lot of people are getting away from the .40 S&W, but not me. I generally carry the Winchester Ranger in that caliber. Getting hit by just about anything in .40 would hurt...bad.

That Remington 155 grain was good ammo. I carried it on duty for a number of years. The one drawback was that it had a pretty bright flash at night compared to the Winchester Ranger and Federal HST we were issued later.
