Bamboo Cokes

I whittled me up a set of target grips out of a sample of Bamboo
parkay flooring. Bamboo is tuff stuff to work and the lamination
made it harder. Most of the work done with a Dremil. Finished
them off with teak oil. No PMs, I'm not taking orders.

Dave, your work looks great! Personally Bamboo doesn't appeal to me (still looks too "floor tilely"), but no matter what your sub-straight is, your work is really what counts! Now that you have the confidence why not try some nice Walnut, Bone, Rosewood, etc. - I'll bet they will come out great! BTW "real wood" is so much easier to work with

Those stocks will likely outlast your revolver. Bamboo is close to indestructium.

I seriously doubt that a guy that makes a set of grips out of
Bamboo is unaware that walnut, bone , ect is easier to work.
I have never done Bamboo but got some African Iron wood
that was used for bearings in large water pumps. Working it
was similar to cast iron.

Yes I used a brand new compact router for the inside ,that was the easy part the outside was a bear

I worked about 6 hrs. total. can not post any more pixs my son posted the last and I still don,t know how he did it.That was right before he put them on his Mod 28 and disappeared. with them!

I used a compact router to do the in letting that was the easy part.I used a roatery file in a dremel to carve the out side and then sand paper to smooth them out. I cut a frame out of wood to mount them on so I would not chance scratching my Mod.25 in the pix
