Checkman- I guess you can honestly say you took The High Road to get here!:D Welcome home!:D

In the future, don't press "okay."

only forum I ever had problems with was the Hi-point forums, even though the people running it have changed and the mods are gone I will never go back.

Checkman- I guess you can honestly say you took The High Road to get here!:D Welcome home!:D

What's funny is that I joined this forum in 03 also then spent the next two years (+) just creeping around and not posting. I was too intimidated - didn't know enough about S&W was my excuse. I got over that.

I copied (plagiarized) a joke on this forum about the tendencie of Hispanics to own and utilize lawn maintenance equipment as a means to gain financial remuneration and placed it on my state specific gun forum and was summarily banned with extreme prejudice. This really bit me in the butt because I've done several gun trades within the state using that forum. I should have known better. I tried to bring some of the jocularity accepted here, to some knucklehead junior PC enforcers on said forum.

I have been on sites that had intolerable members like that. Didn't take me no 10 years to get fed up with the juvenile delinquents, ego maniacs, and socially disfunctional attention seekers. I BANNED THEM from my computers. :D

I believe that this group in here is the best adjusted group I've yet encountered on the internet. Everyone seems to have their head screwed on correctly and I haven't yet noticed any trouble makers, bomb throwers, trolls, or malcontents. I think that the management around here is the main reason for this and also the, ahheemm, mature average age as demonstrated by the recent poll.

Those sites with all the egos and attitudes are very easy to spot and it doesn't take me long to spot 'em.

There is a lot of knowledge and experience in here and y'all really do know how to "play well with others". :D

I received a lifetime ban from THR many years ago. The ban came with a little ribbon I'm entitled to wear on my uniform.

Most of the "not bashing cops - bashing cops" threads start out with some guy that had an encounter with the police. Often it's for a traffic stop where they absolutely state that they didn't do whatever it was they were stopped for.

Given their attitudes on those forums in general, I rather doubt that the police are the ones with the attitude problem. Every time I've been stopped by police there have been two things in common. First, I was doing something worth being stopped for. Second, except for the very first time, 40 years ago, I left without a ticket in hand.

I've found that honesty and politeness go a long way with most police officers.

I too am a THR and S&W forum member. Been over there since 2006 or so, not as long here. No shortage of know-it-alls over there, that's for sure. But I have also gained some valuable insight and appreciated what others have had to say.

I prefer this forum and the attitudes and humor over THR or others. Pick and choose, ignore the douchebags and tools. And don't say negative things about ANYBODY - cops or otherwise! "Didn't your mamma teach you nuthin'?"

Never banned from THR myself, but I have been banned from auto forums for spouting off more than I should have been.

I am, however, in a band. Does that count?:D

I lost my mind on some people on another forum awhile back. They were basically advocating shooting cops on their property. After I totally unloaded on them I never went back. Probably got banned, could have cared less. Real bunch of internet commandos and mall ninjas anyway.

I may be next. It looks like I will be in good company.

The best thing about THR is a member who calls himself Old Fuff. I've always enjoyed his posts.

I don't spend a lot of time there anymore.
