Is anyone aware of online resources that outline good technique for carbines like the M&P15-22? Anything from instructors on video to US Army Field Manuals.

I'm not looking for a basic safety class. I've had plenty of those over the years.

I also don't expect to find something that will take the place of instructor led training. I'll do that when I have the time and budget.

Just looking for a primer on good technique and something to keep me occupied while I wait for my MOE to ship. :)

The Magpul Art the Tactical Carbine videos are pretty decent. These are fun to watch, educational and will definitely keep you entertained. The principles are the same.

For some basic reading you can Google the following:

Army FM 3-22.9 Rifle Marksmanship M16/M4 Series Weapons
USMC MCRP 3-01A Marksmanship

I'm sure there is a lot of good material on YouTube also. I've seen a ton of M&P 15-22 vids of various quality.

Have a look at the Clint Smith (Thunder Ranch) series of DVDs.
He does good stuff.
For basic handling and exercises anything he does for the AR would do for the MP15/22

NB

Jerry Miculek has pro tips scattered on YouTube. They're more focused on competition tactics, but he has a great one for developing offhand stances.

Just search "Brownells - Jerry Miculek" on YouTube and you'll get a dozen or so short excerpts from the DVD.

I bought the MagPul Dynamics Art of the Tactical Carbine I & II and took the class.

DVDs are well put and very entertaining to watch and how much they put into the DVD. They cover everything in class on the DVDs. Only thing you are not getting are the instructors by your side.

I also have the Viking Tactical DVDs. They are good but not much "Holllywood" production put into it. Pretty much straight forward but they don't give you the whole. You have to take the class. It pretty much a teaser of what to expect if you take the class.

You can search youtube for the drills on magpul dynamics

but worth the purchase
