basic silicon spray lube?

I guess you could use silicone spray. I wouldn't. I would use FP-10 or similar. If you think the action is collecting dirt, you can take the grips off, cock the hammer, and hose straight down from above with a cleaner like Gunscrubber or non-chlorinated brake cleaner. You can also spray up and in from the grip area. Then spray into the action with any good spray lube.

While I use CRC Silicone Spray for cleaning magazines and the internals of combat tupperware, I much prefer Breakfree or Remoil in a revolver action. A drop of Breakfree down the front of the cocked hammer finishes the routine cleaning.

BreakFree; ClenzOil and FP-10 is all that ever hits my weapons

Remoil is good too. It contains Teflon and is an excellent lubricant as well as being a good rust preventive as well.

I have used and made a few gallons of Eds Red, it does a great job on carbon deposits and have used it on M-1A, M-1,Ar-15. Great on gas system of Ar-15. It cleans well, evaporates fast and leaves a light film of oil behind. I use it for general clean up of a new acquisition.
