BBQ Guns

I have one. Its not nearly as fancy as others, but, its actually a more practical dress up gun.

Factory round butt 629 with Executioner stags with my name, rank, badge number and agency engraved in an El Paso rig.

What a great collection of guns and it says a lot about who we are.

I had for a short while my father-in-law's nickle plated 36 3". He had his firearms stored at my house. Right after his death, I asked his 2 sons if the would mind if I kept it. They weren't gun types, and they knew that John would have loved for me to have it. It was to be my BBQ gun, and I carried it at his funeral.

I have since given it to my son, and it is now his treasured BBQ gun. I need to get me one again.

"Well Sir,
I just cobbled it up right here on the ranch...Kinda like the saddle tan ones for everyday wear."

OK, just something you "COBBLED" up. I am impressed. Good work.

I have a set of nice combat K-frame grips that I'm thinking of putting a revolver under. I'd love a nickle M10 but will inquire about the DAO M64s J&G has. Yes, just so I can use the grips :D

P.S. I'm moving to Texas and it's a shame they do not allow open handgun carry.

I just drove up to J&G and got my first S&W, a 64-5 1989 I belive. It will be polished and some "dress grips" for my BBQ gun. New Hogues for every day shootin.

Here's the "before" photo as it came from J&G Monday. Not bad for $230!

Sal,

Thanks for resurrecting this great thread.

Hard to decide what might be my favorite BBQ gun. Guess it would depend on the circumstances so here are a couple. If lots of you S&W addicts were invited, I might hang this old RM on my side.

On the other hand, if any old LEO's were allowed to show up, I might wear this very early 1911 Super .38 and .38 Safety Hammerless that were the arms of my wife's Texas Sheriff grandfather.
