Before 2016 how often did magaziness go on sale?

Before I bought my 2.0 compact I never paid any attention to what M&P mags cost since I didn't own one. Looking around I got the impression that if one was willing to wait at least once a year the magazines went on sale for about $25 from big internet vendors like Midway or Brownells. Still waiting for that first sale for the 15 round compact magazines.

Have M&P mags always gone on sale periodically? Or were the sales I saw the result of S&W trying to sell off extra magazines they made expecting there to be a huge surge in demand after Hillary Clinton became president and started pushing for gun control?

CDNN Sports seems to have mag sales about Monthly. What they put on sale varies, but they usually have at least 1 model S&W in the bunch.

My experiences have been there are plenty of sales until I buy the gun and want to buy spare mags....then they never go on sale , become discontinues and the demand and prices skyrocket.
Next time I'm going to buy the mags on sale first....then buy the gun!

Towards the begining of the year there are several vendor shows. One of the specials is usually "buy x pistols, get x mags" These are designed as profit builders for sellers. Some sell the mags at full price, and the guns cheaper, others keep there guns full price and sell the mags cheap. It will depend on the individual seller if and when they pass these deals on to the consumer, but your odds will probably be best during the first and second quarter.

Prices fluctuate depending on laws. Overall things are good for gun owners now but these prices could return. They could have already returned or be outright illegal. I remember.

Varies............... some companies like CZ have 15% off sales twice a year like clockwork

New guns and extra magazines have always been an issue...... one of the reasons I like 3rd gen guns is the interchangeability of mags on many guns.
