Thought you might be interested to see a .22/32 hand ejector which I recently lettered. It's a Bekeart-pattern gun (no serial number on the butt of the grips). It has a six-inch barrel, and the chambers are not recessed for the case rims. The letter indicates it was shipped from the factory March 19, 1917. I've only fired some CB longs in it in view of its age. BTW, I'm looking for an original box for it, if anyone has leads. Here's a pic:

Looks like someone has messed with the sights. I also have one of these that I installed a 4 inch kit gun barrel in, I shoot standard velocity .22 LR in it all the time.

I've got the brother to it ser.no.409xxx but no box.

Thanks to the members of this site I recently found out that grandpa's old .22 is not trash but instead a Beakert

Noticed all 3 guns are slightly different also in that gun 1 has no S&W stamp on L side of frame and gun 2 has no medallions in the grip...

Your front sight is the common one for your vintage gun. Gun #1 sight is like yours but very worn. Gun #2 has the later style factory sight.
Your gun and gun #1 have non-factory rear sight screws (Was common to lose the original screws).
Guns produced in the 20's have no medallions in grips (also before 1910, but these weren't introduced 'til 1911).
The S&W logo on the frame switched sides depending on production dates.

They are good shooters. I shoot mine with standard Velocity. Only problem I have is the grips fit somewhat small in my hands.

That's a cream puff. Have you tried the post war J frame target grips? They will fit the frame perfectly and fill your hand. Save those original beauties for show and pictures.

That was interesting information. It explains the configuration of the front and rear sights on my gun (#1). Thanks!

Thanks Hondo,
I never noticed the set screw before I snapped that pic the day of post.
I almost posted a comment that the set screw looked like it was not original but held back to see if anyone would notice or draw the same conclusion.
Now just have to get the Beakert restored....
Then again , maybe it will cost the same to buy another one in better condition and put this one on the office wall?

You're welcome. I have a half dozen sources for old S&W parts, but unfortunately have not been able to locate any of these early sights or screws.
