I know I’m asking this on a S-W forum but I hope I will still get some serious answers. Why did the Vertec seem to float like a lead balloon in sales and yet the 92 series is still going strong? It seemed like a grip more people could finally get their hands around. The grip area size is the usual complaint about the 92 so I thought for sure it would sell better. Was there some unknown flaw to them?

no known flaw on vertec,s,,its just a beretta with a 1911 grip,,,i prefer the original beretta grip,,but i have big hands.

I think it's ugly.

The current 92FS usually has a slight recontour at the back that is subtle, but which makes a significant difference in the hand over the regular M-9 grip.

I can use the M-9, but prefer my 92 FS.

Beretta has also improved the locking block several times, and the present ones are said to last much longer than the older GI ones. Don't know if recent GI pistols have the new blocks.
