Caje's observation O D Day

An extended period of bad weather over the English Channel long before the tunnel led to the continental news services saying, "Britain isolated by bad weather".

In Britain, the papers said, "Bad weather stops Channel ferries: Continent cut off."

It's all in your perspective.
Yes indeed, so what did the French say? I bet it was funny.

Maybe we're getting back at Mexico because they call the Rio Grande river the "Rio Bravo".
How dare they substitute their Spanish name for the river for our Spanish name for the river!

While most of the world calls the body of water between Japan and Korea the Sea of Japan, South and Nirth Korea call it the East Sea or East Sea of Korea.

As in the case of the English Channel above, I suspect there are many such cases worldwide.

Well ya gotta remember...almost all those islands down there are in the Carribbean..South of the Yucatan...Speaking of that is Cuba in the Gulf or the Caribbean??

Yeah, I can’t ever remember actually saying Gulf of Mexico…like others have said, it’s just the Gulf. And I live just a couple of miles from the coast of it.
I lived about a hundred yards from it, and we just called it the Gulf, or the Texas Rivera.

The Gulf of Mexica sounds like a glorious vacation destination-where you can sun on the beach, fish and enjoy yourself. It conjures up pictures of sunny beaches, great restaurants and girls in skimpy bathing suits.
Gulf of America conjures up a vision of a trailer park with a Meth problem.
It really isn't an issue down here-everyone calls it "The Gulf"
are you really reporting that people are clamoring for 'Gulf of Muh HEE kah?'

are you arguing in opposition to Trump's geo-strategic goals for America, like using Greenland?

and while we're conjuring, let's conjure up the mosquito-ish infestation of beach hawkers to torture you on your glorious mu HEE kan vacation while you lay there conjuring up the vicious dog that barked at you this morning, hoping it isn't there on your way back to the hotel you've conjured up a secure lock for.

(sfx: sound of dead ringer in a spittoon)
