Missus & I caught the Pat Boone movie Bernadine on TCM the other day. Since I met my wife in 56 and we were dating in 57 the movie brought back memories. I found I could no longer tell if the Mercury was a 42 or a 46. I must be getting old. My wife got teary eyed when one of the movie Moms resembled her mother.

If you're an old fuddy duddy from the 50's be sure to catch the flick.

I think a 42 and a 46 were the same body. My Dad had a 46 or 47 Ford. Neat old cars.

Last night it was the 1957 movie April Love. The same Mercury convertible that appeared in Bernadine was also in this movie. Pat Boone was running it around a disused horse track. In the last scene as he rounded a corner the Merc suddenly became a 46 Ford.
I sure wish the wife & I could have the bodies back that we had in 57

41-48 Mercury's share the same body. The difference between a 42 & a 46 is slight. Grille bars on a 42 are horizontal, 46 are vertical.
