Just finished "Control, Exposing the Truth About Guns" by Glenn Beck. I believe it's the best, most informative book he's written.

Plenty of facts to show why gun control efforts are not really about guns, but about controlling us. He reveals all the lies, hypocrisy and myths of the gun control crowd.

No showboating.... just good factual information.

Offered in paperback only, so it's cheap.

Saw a comment today to the effect that you cannot control a moral people; you have to foster immorality in order to control them.

Not bad. As Walt Whitman said, "Resist much; obey little".

CC: NSC "just because".

Glenn Beck....

Glenn is a very good speaker.

I've seen him in person many times with Ollie North, Sarah Palin and others...

He is very passionate about his beliefs both religious and political and some more secular folks mistake that for being a "Nut-Job".

Frankly, I enjoy his work and his message resonates with me.

This part of North Texas is better off after he moved here. He and Mark Levin both get on peoples nerves because they are passionate in what they believe. I will have to find the book and read it.

Seeing how he described himself as getting high every day for nearly fifteen years on illegal and legal drugs; and myself knowing the long term mental health implications of such chemical abuse, I do not listen to, read his work, or watch him, and I encourage others to do likewise.

He lost me when he lied to Barbra Walters on the View.
He said he didn't have to fact check his info because he wasn't a journalist.
He is worse than wrong.

I been told National Enquirer has written a good article every once in a while.
I still won't read the rag.

Most of us can make our own decisions on this topic... Thank You Very Much.

Yes. Very true and I respect that. I also think that the the truth should be well known. Perhaps I was too harsh in my first response; I feel his point of view and words, written and spoken, should be taken as seriously as any other illegal and legal drug dependent person after 15 years of chemical dependence.

I am reading it as I have time and it is an excellent book that dispels all the anti-gun lies.
Oh, and there are 25 pages of footnotes in a 280+ page book to back up the facts.

I knew nothing about the guy until quite recently --- I don't listen to "talk radio" or equivalent television, and am blissfully ignorant of the yammering classes, who evidently think we need their help interpreting the "news" and forming our opinions. I noted that he'd been an invited speaker at the recent NRA convention, so when I bumped into his latest book about gun control, at the book store, (an enterprise with which at least a few of us are still familiar, I think), I bought a copy, and began reading it last night, and finished reading it this morning. It is a surprisingly cogent discussion of the current controversies, well bolstered by credible data, and while a little rough around the edges, still presents compelling arguments that banning various guns and their accessories is idiotic. I'm mailing my copy to my insanely anti-gun Canadian (former subject), BIL, for his possible edification...

I have been a Glenn Beck fan since he first got his show on Fox News. I like how he delivers his opinion on things and I respect that he has facts to backup everything he says. The biggest thing that made me a fan is when he states "Don't just take my word, do your own research". To me meaning don't be a lost sheep following the herd. I have read quite a few of his books including Control and liked every one. He is different than those others like Bill O'reilly, Sean Hanity and Rush Limbaugh, he is not the in your face guy like those three are. Very tolerant of others opinions and I feel that his views are from a truly open minded guy. Mr. Beck definitely thinks "outside the box"
So like him or not, it's scary how many of his predictions do come true!

The preceding was one mans opinion, mine, you may not agree!!!
