high-end .22 handguns, such as S&W 41 and Browning Medalist. OK, I know it's a basic question, but I'm trying to find the balance between the necessity of routine cleaning and not causing any long-term damage to such expensive pieces. You'd be surprised at how many people have recommended potentially problem-causing materials to maintain these fine handguns. To put it another way, I'm in my 50's, I got some new guns, and I want to be sure that they operate perfectly into my 90's :) What do you think is the best cleaning equipment for these "special needs" guns?

As far as a "kit," I use and like Otis. Their packs are well thoughtout and through. For chemicals, either M-Pro 7, or, second, Hoppe's Elite.

I like to use .17 caliber rods on my .22s, and the best I have found are Dewey rods and jags. For bore cleaner in your .22s Ed's Red and a nylon bore brush will do everything you ever need in a .22lr without damage to the bore or crown.
