I've found horsehide Crossbreed Super Tucks to be the most comfortable and concealable holsters.

Really?!?!? BEST holster?!?!?

I have no idea how big you are, are you 6" 10', 400 pounds, 5" 8" 175. How old are you? 85?, 25? Do you routinely intend to carry while wearing a suit and tie or shorts, T shirt and flip flops?

What works for ME will almost certainly not work for you. Do you have 25 plus years of experience carrying a gun every single day? Whatever recommendation I make will be what I , like and could be totally inappropriate for you.

In general carry holsters will be either inside the waist band, IWB, or outside the waist band, OWB. They will be either leather, or some sort of plastic/kydex. Also you have to consider if you want some sort of retention strap/latch of just friction fit retention.

All of these factors and more make holster choices a highly personnel matter. I can not stress strongly enough you need to find some sort of local instruction in concealed carry.

As noted above this is an immensely "personal" question. It depends on clothing commonly worn, body type, infirmities if any and level of retention (if any) desired or necessary. If you spend a lot of time sitting down, as in a car, a shoulder holster might make sense where it might not otherwise. If you spend a lot of time in a warm office environment with little coverup clothing a pocket holster might make sense, or an ankle holster. Personally, where I live and what I wear and my body type and physical limitations go very well with a OWB holster worn just behind the point of the strong-side hip with the size and type of weapon I routinely carry. That might work real well for you, or maybe not worth a darn. I have literally three cubic feet of holsters and mag holders. You may invest a modest bit of time and money finding what works for you.

I can't add much to the last two replies other than to ask if you have any other pistols that you carry concealed. Unless you're doing a total switch from, say, N Frame revolver to that small semi, I'd stick with what you're used to . . .

I think most of us who carry (regularly) probably have a laundry basket full of holsters! Ones we have tried with high hopes, but came up short. Favorites and not so favorite. Different holsters for different wardrobe and circumstances... and different guns, of course. Yes, holsters are a very personal "quest for the best."

Edit: Oh, and btw, Kramer Leather makes a great (iwb) horsehide holster. They made me one for my HK 45c fitted with a CT laser. I have since ordered 2 more holsters from them.

Yeah, definitely need more info.

OP, you might notice that most people include at least their state info over on the right side of their posts- that's helpful information if you're not going to mention it.

Concealed to someone in New York has a very different meaning than to someone in Arizona. I prioritize concealed very low on the list of carry compromises, below effective gun/caliber, one hand draw, comfort, etc.

If you want to save a few bucks and figure it out, take a look at Crossbreed Seconds first.

Please keep in mind the reholster, some will say its not important I call B.S. on that. Make sure it doesn't collapse after the draw!
And good luck on your quest.

All that EDC have a shoebox, or more, of holsters that have been tried for CC, and the ones used the most are far from 'best', they are just the most acceptable for our respective body shapes and personal glitches.
And without a good belt, there isn't a good holster.

Pewpewoh, welcome to the forum. Hope we did not scare you off with some of our replies.:D;)

If the emphasis is on concealed, and comfort is important, an OWB (over the waistband) pancake is a good choice. You wear it with your shirt untucked, or a vest, jacket, etc.

I like Mitch Rosen's 5JR a lot. On the expensive side, but very high quality. The advice to get a good gunbelt is important. You want to be sure that the holster's slots match the belt. That's for stability. I like 1.5".
