Best Grips for M66 snub?

I had a set of Pachmayr Compacs on a Model 19 snub, back when that was a really popular choice (1979). It made a huge difference in controllability for me.

Thanks all for your suggestions and posted photos.

I liked the looks of the Renegade by Pachmayr and ordered a pair of those. They're a major improvement over the tiny original grips, but I'll be interested to try some of the synthetics as well.

The K frame round butt Targets like on j38's also were made without checkering. I have them on my short Model 66's and 3 inch Model 547 (which is how the 547 shipped). I love them.

Second choice is Pachmayr's Compac that covers the rear of the grip frame.

S&W's finger grooved Combat grips just don't fit my hand but are sometimes made with spectacular wood.

It's like buying shoes or gloves, you have to try different sets until you find one that fits YOU.

All my carry-type guns, and some of my hunting guns, have some kind of
rubber Pachmayr grips. The larger guns have Grippers others have
Compacts. My M28 four-inch has Pach Presentations. They look very
businesslike on that old cop revolver and it shoots fine with them installed.

Did you get silver/ black, or rosewood? I could not find ANY checkered in silver black. They looked sharp and functional to me. Bob

Round butt targets look so cool! I had a beautiful set of smoothies for my 36. Wish I had a nice set for my 10-5 snub! Bob

Bob, I bought the checkered rosewood variety. They're working fine for lighter loads, haven't yet cooked up anything to see if they hold well under power. I believe I'm going to want a tad more knuckle clearance when she snorts hard.

Uncle Mike's had some excellent grips, which I really liked on the M19 snubbie, better than the Pachmayrs I had before. They're out of business, but you can still find them online or at shows. Here's a stock photo.

This. Love the Uncle Mike's grips. Currently have a set on my 2" M64 NY-1. If you like the square butt feel, they made a round to square conversion too.

For concealed carry I like magna service grips with a Tyler T :

For open carry I like the RB Targets:

The RB targets live on my 19-8 4" most of the time now and the service stocks and T adapter pretty much reside on the 66-3 snub.
