Best Pocket Holster for J-Frame 442?

Ok, let her rip. Give me your picks and pans. I've used Uncle Mikes for years, but I'm getting tired of having to buy a new one every year or so. What the best one out there? Experiences please.

Well, the best one for me is the one I made myself out of a hunk of 9 ounce veg. tan leather, rough side out.
It stays put in my pocket when I draw my 442, has lasted years and I'm sure it'll last many more.

I've used the Uncle Mike's for sixteen years and am just about to buy my fourth one. I carry daily, but the Uncle Mike's wears pretty well for me.

Now, depending on what pants I'm wearing and how their pockets are made, I often use a DeSantis Nemesis. It holds the gun securely and correctly positioned for a draw and does a good job of concealing the outline of a J-frame.

Have used either the Uncle Mike's or the Nemesis for years. They protect the gun well enough and conceal the outline, but are slow, slow, slow. I can open the combination lock on my safe faster than I can get the thing out of my pocket.

I went from years of carrying a 4" 357 to the 442 somewhat more often. The occasional times when I wanted the gun out pre-emptively it was a real nuisance.

I have pretty well gone to a Glock 19 on a belt holster under a cover garment to resolve the issue. The 442--a great little J frame, no mistake) still gets carried, but nowhere I think I might actually want to get it out promptly.

I've used a Mika for twelve years. It's finally getting to the point where it may need replacement. The choice of round or square cut makes it easy to tailor the holster to your pants. Square holster in round pocket pants will print.

I tried a Nemesis first since it is inexpensive and seems to be generally well liked. I think the soft fabric holsters are too bulky for my pocket. What I didn't like, though, was the top edge of the holster which is much higher than the cylinder. That edge is what really pushed out against the pants and made it very obvious.

From that experience I looked for low cut holsters and found Pocket Concealment Systems. I have a French Curve and love it. Very slim, flat front against the outside of the pocket. Even though this particular design is more for pockets that open along the leg seam, I also used it this past week with jeans and it worked just fine for me.

I have been using the pocket holster from CSM gear for a long time. It is the best "any pants" pocket holster I've used.

I don't use a pocket holster when I carry my M38, M40 or M42 - just my pocket.

I've not found a pocket holster that does anything except add bulk.

I know I'm in the minority, but my system works best for me

Just my opinion, of course.

Lots of confrontations occur just about arms length and usually two rounds are fired unless some one empties a gun according to a recent article I read. If that is true, solid access is a must. IMO, if you purchase the clothing that aids CC, then you can almost carry a full sized Benford 2000 even in the summer. Now is the time to buy some of those longer, short sleeved, pattern oriented to hide printing, and one size too big for CC. I can carry full sized 40 cal in leather holster that hugs the body when combined with a thick, wide leather belt when I wear the CC clothing.
