What do you think is the best pocket holster for a Shield 40? I've carried my 642 in my front pocket since the beginning of time and now I want to try the Shield in a front pocket holster. Thanks!

I use a DeSantis pocket holster myself. It's priced reasonably & has worked out well over the past couple of years.

I've used 3 different pocket holsters over the years. All three are around $25 or less, depending on where you buy and work well with Wrangler brand Relaxed Fit Jeans/Cargo/Slacks.

My favorite is the Galco Pocket Protector (PRO 286). All Leather with a reinforced top. Nice and thin (compared to the other two I use) but keeps Summer sweat away from the metal.

Next, is the DeSantis Pocket-Tuk (111NAE1Z0). Also All Leather with a reinforced top, but also has a removable 360 Degree clip, so it can be used IWB as well. It's a bit thicker than the Galco, but offers versatility.

Finally, The Remora. It also offers the versatility of being used in the pocket, or IWB. I added the 'Sweat Guard' option and Reinforced top (RFT). Adding the Sweat Guard layer may make it a bit bulky and may not be necessary. Remora always offers a discount and many times, offers a free matching mag pouch.

I used a DeSantis pocket holster (E1) for my Shield 9mm. The holster did not cover the rear sight, causing a rash where it rubbed against my upper leg, especially when sitting. A forum member on another thread recommended a Sticky MD-4.

+1 on the Remora

I use the Blackhawk #4. You can get it at Walmart for around $10. Smooth draw and the holster stays in the pocket.
