Best scope for MP15

That 25 yds or less limitation is for the indoor range only. I hope to spend as much time outdoors at 25-50 yds and longer.

Well unless you want to shoot one hole groups at 100yds.... which I don't think the 15-22 can do ..... my advice is not to over scope..........

I like the 1X for shooting close and fast ....... and the 3X for fist size groups at 50-100yds......... a favorite with my boys is 4" clays at 50 yds.... break the clay then shoot the pieces...................

To me the 15-22 is a fun plinking rifle and/or trainer for a .223 AR.

I have had horrible luck with Nikon rimfire scope, Just look at my thread, I will be using the Burris Timberline on any rimfire rifle from this point on. It has great optics, adj parallax,

I don't think I saw your accuracy expectations anywhere in this thread. Are you expecting 1" groups at 100 yards? I have an Aimpoint H-1 on my 15-22 and I can group most of my shots into a 2" circle at 50 yards from the bench. That is plenty accurate for anything I plan to do with it. Just curious what groups you are getting now and at what range, and then what you are expecting to get.

No offense, but UTG's Bug Buster is junk. More for an Airsoft toy.

I second that. I will never buy a UTG product again. I bought a flashlight mount for a shotgun and I couldn't believe how horrible it was. I am convinced the company just produced this *** because they knew people aren't going to pay the shipment to return a cheap mount like that. It was such a joke I can't stomach the thought of buying glass from them.

My 15-22 Scope

I realize that this is an older thread, but I wanted to throw my hat in the ring regarding the usage of a scope for the M&P 15-22. I have gone through several scopes on this rifle. First, I went overkill cause it was the only scope I owned (6-24x, 50mm). It was obviously too much scope for a .22LR, so I put it back on my Rem 7mm-08. Then, I put a CenterPoint red dot that I picked up from Academy, and it did well from about 40-50 meters.

Those of you that are saying that the 15-22 is a 2MOA + rifle are correct. I have found that the 15-22 is a great rifle, but if you want to achieve 1" - 2" groups at 100 meters, you are going to be disappointed.

Knowing this will help you choose the right scope! I think this is why a lot of people stick with red dots for their 15-22. My two favorite scopes for the 15-22 have been a Center Point 1-4x20 AR scope, and the one that I have on it now, which is a 3-9x28 no-name eBay scope. I wanted something that went up to 9x magnification so I could hit varmints (possums, skunks, & armadillos mostly) at 75 meters easily, but the scope had to be SMALL and light-weight. This is the one I settled on. It was $34 and works like a champ.

Nikon Rimfire scopes should work for you

If you can afford the Nikon EFR, also consider the Nikon Prostaff Rimfire. I use the 4-12 40mm magnification version at my local outdoor ranges on steel and paper targets to excellent effect. Scope was on sale for $119 US so I went with the higher power which lets me evaluate results from the firing line. Nikon P-series mounts brought the total to $150 US, a good bargain for sparkling clear glass.

I generally shoot from a homemade bench rest from 40 to 100+ meters. If you are shooting indoors at reduced distances, I imagine less magnification and weight would suffice. I looked at most of the cheap options under $100 but decided on a quality scope and mounts for just a bit more investment. I can place 25 rounds in a 3" bulls-eye gong at the mentioned ranges using 6x magnification, and I'm no rifleman.

Help please I have a red dot copy on my MP it isn't giving me the accuracy I want , what is the best scope , bearing in mind I live in the UK and can't get all of your scopes , regards Gerry :)

Hi there. It does look schweeet!!! Do you mind telling me how much you paid for this scope? I'm in the market too. Thanks.

So many quality optics to consider. But to keep costs reasonable I'll be running with Bballjames recommendation of the Bushnell AR Optics Rimfire.
