Bib Overall carry

Wonder if a seamstress could sew a hidden pocket on the inside of the bib .. with the pistol carried horizontally in a holster attached to the inside of that pocket ..

I know a guy that has his wife sew an inside bib pocket. Carries a 1911 45acp. When I wear them it is usually a small revolver in right front pocket.

The front pockets on those Liberty overalls are big enough to put a 4 inch K frame in.

Thank you for the tip!
I have never worn Liberty brand but plan to find some.

What other brands have you guys/gals found that will allow a j-frame in a front pocket holster to fit deep enough to conceal fully and provide enough security?

Remora makes a nice holster. It has a sticky rubber outer. I just stick it behind the bib, it stays in place very well. I have had no issues with it moving around at all.

I am going to try and describe this...
I wear bibs....and using a ballistic nylon holster with thumb snap retention.....with a length of amsteel line...run through the length of the holster....measured....so the loops at each end of the line....will allow horizontal carry.... the bibs shoulder strap "loops"....serve for the line "loops" to hang from...trapped between the bibs shoulder strap "loops"....and the bibs buttons.....the weight of the holstered gun is carried by the shoulder straps of the bib overalls....so far I have carried a S&W M60 Pro....A Browning 1911-380....and a Browning HP...on different occasions...just to field trail the set up....the S&W M60...is coming to the front as best ....can carry two bianchi speed strips in the front bib pockets

the guns are completely concealed....do not print...and very easy to access....

I am currently making leather holsters very much in design to the Galco Classic Lite shoulder holster...to hang from the bibs shoulder straps

I frequently wear Libertys when working on the farm. They are great for doing tractor work. The front pockets carry my 649 pretty well.

When I was young and growing up in eastern N.C. they were called overhauls. When I was real young I used to see farmers in overhauls behind a plow and team of mules.

I pocket carry my J frame when I wear my bibs and if I’m on my tractor I have a cheap Uncle Mikes holster rigged up on it so I can have my 66-8 handy for coyote control.

In a past life I knew an old man that was a trader, sawmill worker and farmer, etc. He wore a cowboy hat, cowboy boots and bibed "overhauls". I thought that was an odd combination of dress but his daughter was pretty so I kept my thoughts to myself. Larry

And just how was it up there on Wolverton Mountain?

A good friend of mine has been wearing bibs for as long as I can remember. He carries in the bib pocket right up front. I can't remember the brand, but its big enough to hide a 2" K-frame.

I have carried a Charter Bulldog 44 in my front bib pants pocket so long that the sight wore a hole through the pants but not the pocket. Go figure that one. I never had anyone notice I was carrying. The pockets are so big that about any average size gun can easily be carried in front or rear pockets.

Any of you wear 'em? I grew up wearing Liberty. Now I'm trying to figure the best way to conceal carry in warm weather wearing them.

I love my bib overalls, but have pretty much stopped wearing them.

Carrying while wearing them was sorta problematic for me. Overalls are naturally loose fitting, and I'm kind of a little guy, so they're even looser on me.

Front pocket carry didn't work for just that reason. The gun and pocket tend to kinda flop around if I'm doing anything active.

Overalls have no waistband, so IWB isn't an option. And I figure I'd look really stupid strapping on a belt and holster around my waist while wearing 'em. Plus when it's hot, you tend to wear as little as possible under them...a t-shirt and a pair of underwear's about it. It'd be real uncomfortable, I think, wearing a gunbelt under the overalls and more or less right up against bare skin.

So. My bibs are hanging in the closet now, looking about as forlorn and abandoned as a piece of clothing can look, I reckon. They sure were handy, though.
