Big bore snubbies

Not really snubs, but are proportioned for that look.
The 460 S&W 3.5 inchers.

You’ve posted pics with Nill’s stocks on your X frames Snubs.
I knew when I purchased my M460C that the rubbers would not allow me a high grip and would rotate, bore axis, if I was holding it in the finger grooves.
After lowering the tops of the grooves it’s okay for the next range session but still pitiful.
I’ll post some pics tonight.
Legs are healing so I’ll finally use the Chrony for bullets.... arrows and airguns are all it knows.

My old 357 SS Ruger with Monos allows for easy control DA/SA.
I’ll make what I need before headed to the Rockies but am curious as to your thoughts.
Thanks
RT

Big difference between TrailBoss and #9..... took my 458WinMag color coded data sheet by mistake.
Teardrop hammer touched my skin but beats brushing my nose with a glance of my thumb.
New 870 Super Mag ran fine will a dozen trap loads ...but I loaded a 3.5” HV ... got up close like I run our BT99, just ramp and front bead..... I couldn’t believe no blood flow.
It was in 458 WinMag territory which surprised me.

I must know where to find one of these fixed sight 629s. MUST HAVE. What's the official designation?

The original run is 629-5 Camfour, they made about 300. There was a second run of 629-6's (with the lock), but I don't remember how many in that run (very few?).

I haven't seen any literature that ascribes a name to these.....maybe someone else here has one of the brochures? I remember seeing a flyer, but want to say it was a Camfour exclusive????

Nice looking piece! What dash is this model as I've yet to see one with provisions for a Lanyard???

I ask because Only my CZ's have Lanyards which I find perfect for The Great Outdoors... and will only carry them when Boating or Kayaking with a Lanyard-Line attached to a belt when doing so for fear of the gun going overboard especially when Kayak fishing.

The Lanyard was something that I added myself. I replaced the nut on the Hogue grip adapter with one threaded for an Uncle Mike's machine screw rifle swivel, which I used in place of the Hogue's grip screw. Very simple, and handy for keeping up with your gun in the tent, or while bear hunting with dogs.

I have one of the 629-6's and its a little bit different from the "-5." Not only does the later one have the lock, it also has a different shaped frame. The earlier gun has a squared off frame (at the hammer) (the shape reminds me of a Model 36) and the later one is more rounded, much like a Model 58. I have a line on a dash 5, but can't get any movement from the owner.

Here is the "-6" Camfour to show the difference. The Lew Horton Carry Comp (Mag Comp, called either) has the same shape to the frame.

Here is one I have been looking for.....

.....for what seems like a loooooong time.

Thanks to the keen eyes of a forum member, I was able bid on and win this 629 Carry Comp or Magnum Carry (I can't recall which, but I have seen it referred to both ways.)

3 inches of 44 Magnum goodness in a fixed sight configuration, with a single upward facing port after the front sight. Standard S&W Combat stocks, tear drop shaped hammer, and a wonderful PC shop honed action. It is too cool for words.

I thought that I had saved a brochure for this model, but I have hidden it from myself, or was mistaken. If anyone has a copy to post, please do :)
