I worked for amc/Jeep at the time the factory rep drove in the new pacer. He asked me what I thought. I told him they put an air hose in a gremlin and closed the door to make a pacer. Lmao.

These were good cars. The 232/358 inline six design goes back to the rambler days in 1950's the old 199. The v8 gremlin with its 304 v8 a 360/401 bolts in. I like one with a bb Chevy? There was a guy Sam who raced American motors cars and was successful. Mark Donahue was successful on the race track too.

The rebel machine 390 was a dog. Nice body size for a bb Chevy. Sleeper.

Fact, I had a rebel machine 390 come in with no oil pressure on an idle. I dropped the front end and pulled the oil pan and found a hydraulic lifter in pieces. Under warranty I replaced the lifter and off she went. That's all the factory paid for.

I had a 77 Hornet punkin orange station wagon. The 258 motor was strong and was the same motor used in the Jeep.

I forgot, wasn't this pacer, gremlin or a similar model that had the sides buckle in them newfangled automatic car washes?
