The wife and me have been riding our bides to try and get my leg stronger so I won't limb anymore. It is working, I have a co-driver with me all the time to look for deer and such.. There is about 20 miles of old railroad bed that they have turned into a walking and biking route, the wildlife likes it to.

The nice thing about peddling along the rails-to-trails is that the grade is never too extreme.

We have a couple nice ones here in CT. Only trouble is I keep stopping and poking around old pole stumps looking for insulators, which itself is a form of exercise I guess.

We have a 37 mile trail near our house that goes all the way to Lake Michigan. Unlike yours, it is mostly unpaved. Still, it's a great ride.

Is that the Greenbriar Trail? I have ridden parts of that and it's very nice. I have a recumbent trike that I love to ride. It makes more trips to the store than my car does. I think bikes are a terrific way to travel. It puts you "out there" and goes at an easy pace. The mileage is really good also!

Hope you're payin' that navigator well. He (or she) looks like one hard worker!

I too, have recently rediscovered bicycles. My wife got me a Jamis Citizen for my birthday last month, and I can't get enough of it. I can tell my legs are getting stronger. I live about a half mile from a system of bicycle trails that goes through a good portion of Sacramento County. I've heard that it is the largest in the nation, though I don't know that for certain. Glad to see you have such an eager looking navigator.

Crazy K38 I still commute on my motorized version of the two wheeler almost every day.

There are a few trails in WVA I'd wanted to ride but cannot since I got hurt. I really miss riding.

I just got back from riding on the Kal-Haven Trail (an old railroad right of way) near my house.

What a great ride on a beautiful day! The bicycle is (IMHO) the finest fitness implement ever devised.
(... to paraphrase General Patton.)

I have a 3 mile mountain bike path on my land. I love it.. problem is the forest is trying to retake it in places so I need to do some serious work on it. That paved path in your shot looks like a joy!

And the dog... awesome!
