Bill O'Reilly is a doofus

You would be hard pressed to find a credible source to declare that Reagan was not suffering from the early stages of dementia/Alzheimers during his last two or three years of office . . .

Believe what you want. It doesn't take much effort to find plenty of articles citing information contradicting what O'Reilly has in his book. It is his schtick. He patted himself on the back for not interviewing anyone who might have actually seen Reagan after his "killing." And he promotes his books endlessly on a show I no longer watch but if you like him, fine and dandy.

I subscribe to the doofus line of thought.

Do you disagree that Reagan was demonstrating signs of dementia during the last couple years of his office?

I agree, but his books, Killing (Jesus, Lincoln, Patton, Kennedy, Reagan) are factual, interesting, and thought provoking . . .

All of those topics have been covered extensively by others. His books are probably nothing more than his thoughts on what others have written.

Sorry,I just can't stand this jackwad anymore than Hannity.

Both Hannity and Megan Kelly have good points and excellent guests. Hannity has CC licenses in about four states, is very pro gun and an articulate defender of the Second Amendment. He says other things that I agree with that can't be discussed here.

Why would you find him objectionable ? As the media goes, he's the best they have.

O'Reilly is no longer as anti-gun as he was, but he is still full of himself and lacks in- depth gun knowledge.

I find Jesse Watters amusing as he does his version of Jaywalking, but he is pretty smug, like O'Reilly.

If it wasn't for Fox News, there wouldn't be much "news", just propaganda for ...well, we can't go there, on this board.

The major networks cover things like alligator and shark attacks and plane crashes pretty well, but not
anything that requires impartial reporting in the obvious areas.

In the past I have watched him call for gun registration. And he calls for Federal law after Federal law for every problem he perceives at the moment.

O'Reilly believes in strong, autocratic central government. The very definition of fascism. He doesn't want the government to be constrained by the Constitution if they are "looking out for you."

Dugard. I always wonder how much of the books he wrote.

A lot of folks here are well informed about guns and gun issues, so when they see a TV talking head babbling misinformation about guns they know just how ill-informed the TV talking head is. Now just think about all the subjects these TV talking heads babble about that you're not very knowledgeable of. Do you really think they are any better informed than the subjects you already know they are clueless about?

I read and watched the killing of Lincoln. Nothing ground breaking or shattering in it. You could get the same information from 50 previously written books which he most likely plagiarized or rehashed the information.

I watched Fox News daily when they first came on the air but it didn't take long before Hannity and O'Reilly became so full of themselves I couldn't take it any longer. They both act like petulant children when people disagree with them. The only reason Hannity gained fame was because he cohosted with Alan Colmes who was and still is a complete buffoon. If you put Hannity on the spot he quickly changes to another subject.I catch Hannity on the radio when I'm on the road but only because he precedes Michael Brown.

Chuck24...I apologize for drifting off from your topic.

"Sometimes I even bore the heck out of myself with my ignorant rants and incessant b.s."

O'Reilly is an abject populist, and his rants often go off the rails when he gets caught up "in the moment". He has ranted and railed about judges who give light sentences to sex abusers, but his solutions are frequently completely outside the bounds of logic.

Instead of going after legislatures to change laws, he just rants about "liberal" judges, and wants to retroactively further punish people for law breaking.

I've read several of "his" books. None of them are even thought provoking, since he puts conspiracy theories in them without any real proof that such conspiracies exist(ed). "Killing Patton" is especially egregious.

Evidently, his staff doesn't do a very good research job, or he ignores what they find. I'm guessing that research results that don't gibe with his preconceived notions get tossed to the side.

Watching "Kennedy" on Fox Business at 8:00PM is much more entertaining, although a bit juvenile at times. Lou Dobbs, on at 7:00PM is even more entertaining and informative.

I didn't read Howard Stern's entire comment yet on this, but his take is very pro gun, pro fight back. Yahoo's front page has, and I counted, 12 to 14 antigun articles each day since that AR15 up and killed all those people all by itself.
