The list I won't bore you with however we have now given Billions and Billions of dollors in aid to mostly country's that hate us....Including Iraq. and Pakistan, not to mention what we have spent in Afganistan. Funny thing no matter who much money and lives we have given most hate us..we have even given Russia ,money and Putin tries to embarras our president..The list goes on and on.....Yet we can't open our National Parks and Memorial,s for our veterens and kids.. Some of our citizens can't even go to their homes because they are on public trust land....No Money we hear...We are broke and in debt but we still give to those who don't even like us....Something wrong with this premisis...or am I just crazy..the one that really gets me is Iraq we got got rid of a brutal dictator for them...DUH !!!!

The whole "nation building" and "making the world safe for democracy" thing, on the whole, has not gone well. Good intentions do not automatically override human nature.

Paladin's recent post speaks volumes: Mansions!

Most all the money given seldom go`s where intended but to the punjab`s and dictators. Its immoral and insane!
People here that have worked and paid taxs all their lives if caught exaggerating their deductions get in big trouble yet we shovel the money out in a black hole by the shipload.
The plan is to do everything possible to raise the third world up and us to meet them on the way down.

At the risk of running afoul of management here I have to report that the Amber Alert web site is down but Michelle's Let's Move site is still up.

Sorry in advance but I don't report this as partisan politics, just an indication in general of what state we are in without saying who is wrong or right.

We are in a world of...well, you remember the line from Full Metal Jacket! Funny thing:last night before the football game there was a flyover by three fighter jets. I don't know enough about jets to be able to identify them, but they looked pretty current to me. What with the sequester nonsense going on, I didn't think flyovers were happening anymore. Were the possibly privately owned? Any ideas?

I think there's a general misunderstanding. There were no giveaway of money. There were investments into politicians which mostly failed. Money "given away" were investments to influence local politics, the efficiency is highly questionable though.

That describes it all :)

It's been my understanding that you can't "give" freedom. If you don't earn it, you don't respect it.

Same is true for money, or just about anything in general; people mainly seem to learn the value of something based on how difficult it is to get it, or replace it.

Money is in one sense 'liquid freedom,' in that it can empower choice like few other things.

I loved it when a WWII Vet who was on a bus in DC and was being interviewed by Greta Van Sustren on how they felt getting denied access to THEIR memorial. Dont quote me exactly as im ill with Flu but--he said something like: 'We Did Our Jobs, its TIME they did theirs." And another one who did his best Not to cuss, said something like: (Trying not to get booted from site so words changed) "This current Govt is nothing more than a Chinese Fire Drill (and Greta told him it was OK to say what he wanted being her show was on cable) but the Vet smiled and left off with his feelings towards the DC folks and saying something comparing them with ****. :-D

if you are not performing well on your job, you get a termination notice.
several hundred termination notices need to be printed and distributed to the top paid federal and state employees.

they can then apply for employment, after extensive training, at the national parks......lots of public conveniences need to be sanitized.

I've been saying this for years, but we really need to just close the "bank" lick our wounds for a few years and heal ourselves before we go out trying to do good. Sure it might hurt these countries for a little while, and maybe a small financial crisis in their country will erupt because of it. BUT if the bank closes down for good, who is going to prevent that from happening anywho?
