I think you need a nice used Safariland M-29 holster or the same basic thing, an El Paso Model 2. Lined, and I'd choose basketweave stamping.
Where you live, with cougars occasionally in the yard, that .44 is a good carry gun choice.
If you insist on owning a nickle plated gun, at least you stocked it well.
