Wasn't looking but a very nice looking 1026 walked up to my table at a gun show this weekend and wound up coming home with me at a very reasonable price. Seller was looking to raise money to buy a Delta Elite so I was happy to help him out by giving a little less than half of what the Colt was going to cost. No box or papers but looks to be almost new, no nicks, dings or holster wear and came with two mags. Also has the "CAUTION - CAPABLE OF FIRING WITH MAGAZINE REMOVED" warning. Did any PD's use the 1026 as I though only police guns did not have the mag disconnect? Looking forward to firing as soon as I can replace the recoil spring. BTW SN is TFD44xx.

I remember seeing some 1026 VASP turn-ins on Gunbroker. I always thought that they issued the 1076, and they may have, but it appears some 1026s made it into the inventory as well.

Can someone tell me what version trigger guard this is, just curious.

According to the Standard Catalog, there were three vbersions made from 1990-91. It doesn't show which version applied to which trigger guard and all three versions involved the 2nd and 3rd trigger guards. An excellent 1026 is listed at $600.

No matter what you paid, it's a keeper. Did you buy a lottery ticket on the way home? <GRIN>

1026

Great snag. Been looking for one myself...with box and papers though.

I had a Delta Elite many years ago (late 80's early 90's) that I did not much care for but I think I might like this one. I still have all my 10 MM reloading stuff, a few hundred cases and some reloads from the D E days so that will help. Called S&W today and found out it was shipped to a police distributor not an agency and that it has the decocker mod.

That pistol looks brand new!

The 10mm is a round that really begs to be reloaded: it's so expensive, I don't see how anyone could afford to shoot it much.

And, factory ammunition is hotter than what you need for the range, anyway.

Enjoy your new pistol!
