My wife's off today and we went to the YMCA yesterday for a really good workout. We slept in and decided to earn our breakfasts.
She did half an hour on our home treadmill and I rode our stationary bike. Followed by some stretching and ab work.
By the time we were done it was early afternoon, lunch time.
I asked my wife, "so, what's for breakfast?" She said, "steak and eggs." I said, "I thought we were having steak for supper."
So my wife replied, "then this'll be blupper, breakfast, lunch and supper in one meal."
I cooked the bison steaks, she cooked the eggs over easy and made the toast with whole wheat bread.
We had blupper together.

As they say, pictures or it didn't happen!! :D I'm with you though, I had a long work day yesterday and all I ate was a plain Whopper burger from Burger King-and a few sugar cookies and a few sips of Egg Nog lite. That was it.

That is a favorite for me when Mom and I go to Cracker Barrel for dinner. I get the sirloin and eggs. With a side of hash browns to soak up the over easy eggs and a small bowl of cream gravy for dipping the steak in.

NEVER HAD BISON

Been meaning to for years. I'm guessing they use different names for the types of cuts??? What's a good cut similar to ribeye without the bone,& another good cut with the bone like a porterhouse. Will be cooking it in cast skillet with few seasonings the first time. ANY tips/recommendations appreciated.

Blupper... not so appetizing a word! I think of the whale blubber being eaten by Eskimos!!

I don't know what the cuts are called. The Martins near the YMCA we go to has 'em as a 2 pack of 6 ounce steaks. We also pick up some ground bison while we're at it.
Bison's a naturally lean meat. I've found that it's best cooked to no more than medium.
'Bout like this:

I just use a little rubbed sage.
Personally, I like it best grilled in hickory smoke.

Not this time but my wife made a deal with me. If she gets an entertainment center in our bedroom where she can play her albums and cassettes, I can set myself up my own little cigar lounge in our basement.
It took some creative wiring and home made adapters but she's got her entertainment center.
I'm planning on making that Partagas Lucitania the first cigar I smoke down there.
I have a cheap bar as a counter, a bar stool and a Sunbeam air purifier. Just need a photogenic ash tray and some auxiliary lighting. I'm planning on doing videos down there. Blithering and smoking cigars. I'm also thinking of a table lighter and a nice shiny cutter.

I built a dedicated Cigar Room in my home 22 years ago and had my HVAC guy install a special exhaust fan in the room's ceiling. It is a variable speed fan that can move lots of air and depending upon how many Crony's are here smoking depends on how much I turn the RPM's up. Don't remember the spec's since it was 22 years ago but it is a commercial unit that opens and closes the louvers automatically.

Of course there has to be a window cracked opened so the air in = the air out. On super cold days 25º F or less I will usually shy away from using the Cigar Room as the exhaust will also suck out the heat as well. The high efficiency baseboard heating in the room is more than adequate however it will run constantly on a severely cold day when the exhaust is on high. During the Summer months I usually opt to smoke my Cigars outdoors by the pool. So my Cigar Room gets used mostly in the Spring, Fall and on moderate weather days where I will not be sending the heat out to the Squirrel Brothers. :)

PS: This is MY ROOM and has it's own Central AC Unit and separate heat zone so no smoke or smell ever enters the house. Mrs. chief is not a cigar smoke fan. :o I've had up to 7 guys over smoking Cigars and after a few hours of them leaving you would never even know we smoked cigars in there.

Every Man needs a place to call his own and do what relaxes him WITHOUT feeling guilty or apologizing :) :D.

Hey Snubby - why not write a book. I'll give you the title........
"Grillin' & Cigar Chillin' with Snubby".

And by the way, why haven't you make a Leather Holster for your grillin' tools? LOL!! :D :D

Merry Christmas!

Here is an idea for a holster this set is from Argentina to be used at an Asado/BBQ
The knife slides into the sheath behind the carving fork and the sharpening steel, they are held in place by holes in a flap at the bottom of the sheath. All held in place by a leather strap with a snap at the top.

Ol' Snub's ears are gonna smoke when he sees that rig.
I'll bet he can dream up some variations on that combo holster.
Cigar tube instead of the steel...?

Speaking of cigar stuff, Wayne, sorry I forgot to tell you, that cigar guy didnt show up at the gun show. Ill try again at the next. The gun show owner told me he cancelled because his mother had a heart attack.

It's groovy. I found a nice Arturo Fuente ashtray on Amazon that I'm planning to make a post holiday gift to myself.

Snubby,
You are probably already aware, but in case you are not JR, CI, Thompson etc. usually run promo's and throw in a really nice ashtray from time to time with a purchase.

The one below is one my Wife gave me for a B'day gift that she found in an Antique Store right after I built my Cigar Room. From what I understand it's well over 100 years old!
