Picked up my Bodyguard 380 Saturday. Went to the range on Sunday and I like this gun a lot. One issue was out of 100 rounds there were about 20 that failed to fire. It appears that the pin is not striking hard enough. Even the ones that did fire the strike was barely noticeable. Anyone elso having this type of issue?

I have had my BP380 less than a month. I have fired 150 rounds through it and not one FTF. I used Federal Premium and Federal Eagle that I purchased at my local WalMart. I did have about 5 falure to loads where the gun fired, ejected the shell casing and then the new round hung up.

I put about 400-500 rounds through my EAA8xxx BG380, and never had any real FTF issues other than a box of cheap Russian steel case ammo. Even then, they all went on the second or third strike (it was actually good practice rapid firing, learning to keep pulling that trigger even if nothing goes bang).

When I got my warranty gun back (now serial number EAH9xxx), I went through about 50-60 rounds, and did have one FTF. I didn't check that shell, since it fired on the second trigger pull. The indentation in the casings I checked were all nice and deep, so I suspect it was just a flakey primer. If you're not getting nice, deep indentations in your ammo you may want to have the gun checked, or at least try some different ammo to see if you get different results.

Thank you for you comments. The indentations are very shallow so I guess I will call S&W tomorrow.
