I know someone that has, in very nice condition, a Model 39-SS, which is, I think a 39 slide on a Bole Industries custom stainless steel frame. From what I read they made about 200 of these, before the BATF closed them down, out of CA.

I read a lot of posts from years ago, but wondering what would something like this be worth today, in your opinion?

I couldn't even find Bole Industries listed in my Blue Book, so due to the obscurity of these, putting a value on them could be difficult. They may fall into a curio niche that few are interested in and thus not be worth much when compared to the 'real deal'. Your best bet, unless someone here has knowledge about this gun, to search sites like GB for past sales.

Pics of that gun would be enjoyed very much on here. As its rather rare then a pic is a thousand words most of the time.

I don't have a lot of information on these stainless frames but will share what I know, first off there had to have been at least 393 frames made because I have that serial # also have serial # 27 that is in the box bought off of GB couple years ago for $150, I paid $250 for the complete BII S&W 39SS mock up, great shooter nice hefty weight no muzzle rise!! There is a very good research brochure that Richard McMillan put out back in 2008 it is called The Smith & Wesson Model 39 Its Variations and Modifications, he explains In 1977, Bole Industries Inc. (BII) manufactured a aftermarket stainless frame for the model 39 which S&W was interested because of the investment casting process, and asked Bole to provide a quote for tooling and manufacturing cost for the fabrication of Model 39 and Model 59 frames, tooling was produced and sample frames were submitted but negotiations brooke down whereupon BII in order to try and recoup invested money tried to sell frames on the open market, The BATF determined they were not in compliance with with hand gun manufacturing and were shut down after approximately 200 Model 39 frames were produced and several 59 frames, subsequently they went out of business shortly there after, as far as your question of value I would suspect a BII 39-SS would bring $600 in very good condition and a 59-SS at least $700 in my opinion.

Thanks nocents, I purchased them from a very distinguished member on this forum:D I think they really pop on a two-tone pistol!

Here is the Bole SS framed pistol that was posted here before about 2-3 years ago. This is the one the guy I know has locally. Been on the hunt for one since I heard and researched his....
