The only time I heard "NRA 500", was when Carl Malone called the drivers to start their engines. Since then nary a word.

sheesh what a drag. Go SMOKE!

Has anyone noticed no mention of the NRA? No ads, mention of the race name, no video of a NRA flag. Seems like the NRA plan backfired, they are getting no mention at all.

even on the FOX/NASCAR website it says TEXAS 500.

Sometimes silence is the loudest sound, everyone knows who sponsoring the race, everyone.

Its the big Glorious Elephant in the room!

America Heck Yeah!

Well then, when the bill comes in from NASCAR................

DON'T pay it............................................................

OOPS, with 46 laps to go they mentioned the NRA 500.............dang, now gotta pay the bill...

At the end of the broadcast they did show Busch hoisting the trophy up and it did say NRA 500, they didn't leave the camera on it very long.

at the end Busch was talking on the radio, something like, "woohoo time to celebrate and get some gu-----" well that is what is sounded like to me.

Fox is running scared of left wingers and the anti gun folks.

Other than the "Mailman" giving the command to start engines, I think Chris Myers mentioned it 3 times but only in the second half of the race. The cameras were positioned to mostly avoid the NRA logo at the Start/Finish line and only a couple of times during in car cameras could you see the NRA billboard in turn 4. It's almost like someone at the NRA called someone at NASCAR who called someone at Fox halfway through the race and said you had better get some mentions of the race sponsor in or somebody ain't getting paid. Still, considering that every time they mentioned an upcoming race, they mentioned the sponsor with it, I think the NRA should tell NASCAR and Fox we want our money back because we didn't get what we paid for!

Actually, I think it was Mike Joy in the booth with Larry and Mr. Boogity now that I think on it.

Didn't anyone with the Association read the fine print?

Like in how many times a sponsor get recognized during an broadcasted event?

Dang, a lit'l national air time would've been good...

But, with a Texas crowd, it's a bit like preachin' to the choir, don't ya think.

.

Personally, I'd like to see S&W sponsor a car / team with a big name driver in the seat.

Primary sponsor on something like that would be upwards of 10 or 12 mil per year. Ain't gonna happen.

Fox also had a senator on their back to not broadcast the NRA 500.

This may explain why.

"As is custom for all race sponsors, the NRA was offered the chance to buy the premium ad package from Fox Sports that would include commercial time, sponsor mentions and graphics with the race name. The NRA declined, and thus the race was presented without a sponsor on in-race graphics and the Fox broadcast mentioned the title sponsor once an hour. Earlier in the week, Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy (D) wrote a letter to Fox to ask the network not to broadcast the race.
The NRA's sponsorship met and passed all NASCAR guidelines for sponsorship approval, but the sanctioning body said on Friday that it would take a closer look at other factors when going through its standard sponsorship approval process moving forward."
