Both Elk and Deer!

I was just reminded that no pictures = no event! :)

A photo experiment after the change.

The five-round group is at 100 yards from a bench. She's 3" high at 100 yards, and dead on for elevation at 150. Thanks to USPS for the stick-on target. 😀

What's the old saying, 'Man plans and God laughs'?

Went for a routine eye exam a few weeks ago and ended up at the ophthalmologist. The first doc found 3 small hemorrhages in one eye in the retina macula. He said he nearly always sees that with diabetics, so he sent my first to my primary care for blood tests (A1C 5.8, blood glucose 102, so no diabetes), then on to an ophthalmologist.

That doc showed me that my eye has 4 actual aneurysms and said we'll check again in 90 days. In the meantime, no boxing (not a problem) but I mentioned heavy recoil rifles and shotguns - he said nope.

So; deer season is November, elk in December. I can use my AR in 7.62x39 for deer, but by Dec will know if the 405 will be okay.

Aging sux.

Here's what I'll use for our smallish mule deer:

Not impressive as what I'd planned (left v right).

Sigh.
