Been wanting a 4x4 V6 SR5 Tacoma for a while now, but I aint had no payments on anything in a long time. Finally bit the bullet. I've only bought one other brand new car, and that was in 1978. I always buy a year or two old and save some bucks. Looked at a few used ones for $20K+ and most had over 100K miles.

They had to get the color and options I wanted from another dealer, but it should be in tomorrow.

Dealership has a 20 year 200,000 mile nationwide power train warranty...gotta pay $100 deductible after I think 50,000 miles, but still a comfort to have.

Stock picture, but exactly what it will look like.

Toyota Tacoma

I buy a new vehicle every 3 years whether I need one or not. The one that I have now is my second Toyota Tacoma. I like it very much, sold my first one to my son in law and I have 26,000 miles on this one. My next vehicle may be my third Tacoma. Its a strong truck without too much gingerbread in the line of electronics. Great truck.

I just gave my 2012 Rav 4 to my daughter and bought a new Ram quad cab and I probably would have bought a Tundra but they are really pricey. The Ram I got brand new exactly the way I wanted it and paid the price that I was planning on paying for a used truck. Used pickups around here are selling very high or I would have bought one because I like to buy used and let the other guy take all the initial depreciation but it sure is nice to buy brand new with 5 new tires and full warranty instead of somebody else's mystery vehicle.

That is an excellent truck that should provide you with many years of good service.

I gave up my 2004 F150 4X4 in 2015 when I retired. Bought my wife a new car and took her 5 year old SUV. Three years later I realized that I really missed having a truck, and I wanted another one. Spent months looking for a "truck", not a tricked out SUV, but a real truck with heavy duty upholstery and rubber floor mats, something I can use for hunting, fishing, camping, then just hose out the mud and dirt. Found it about 7 months ago! New Nissan Titan 4X4, 5.6L V8 (390HP, 394 Ft.Lbs. torque), 7-speed automatic, cruise, AC, with rubber floor mats and very durable upholstery. I expect it will take me the rest of the way!

Enjoy the new Toyota!

I too, bought a Nissan Titan diesel 4x4 and really enjoy it. Now that I'm retired, we plan on traveling the US and got it to be our travel vehicle. It had excellent ride and the mileage is great. On our last trip we were getting 20-21 mpg doing 70-75 mph on the Interstates.

Way to go Wood. I've had three Toyotas in 33 years for the wife, plus drove one as a delivery truck back in the day and will swear to their quality. That said I looked for a recent model used for two months, V6 with king cab and opted for the Nissan Frontier SV model of 2017.
Reasons would be fodder for another thread but the Tacoma will do you proud.

Hard to go wrong with a Toyota 4x4. Is yours manual shift or auto?

It's an automatic.

Picked it up yesterday at 3, and had time to drive home then had to leave to photograph a wedding. I drove my car to the wedding...most of my stuff was already in the trunk.

I did take it for a pleasure ride last night around midnight. Has 95 miles on it now.

Congrats on your new truck,

I to am a believer in Toyota. My Tacoma is an 01 and it's been 99.9% reliable with the only issue being the clutch safety switch that needed its contacts cleaned at about the 15 year mark.

Toyota 4x4 V6 SR5 Tacoma

Congratulations on your new purchase
of a brand new Toyota 4x4 V6 SR5 Tacoma.

I keep thinking and looking, with the idea
of replacing my Well Kept Classic 1998 Chevy
White Silverado.

But I keep believing for the price for what I
would have to pay for a $50K New Vehicle
it is far cheaper to keep mine, especially when
a Chick in a Brand New Chevy waves and gives
the Thumbs up on mine. A young Kid did the
same the other day, he was driving a newer
Ford that was rusted out.

I like your New Pickup. And if the day comes
that I will have to buy a New PU, I think Toyota
would be the way to go.

Congratulations on the new ride!

You might check out Toyota Tacoma Forums - Tacoma World a pretty good forum for Tacomas. Some good info and the occasional group buys there.

My first pickup was a 1955 Chevy, then a 1960 Chevy, 1971 Datsun, then on to several F-150's, and a couple of Rangers. I am on my third Tacoma 4x4, a 2013 I bought new and it has 47,000 miles on it.

A few months ago my wife asked if I was thinking about getting a new truck. Nope, I hadn't thought about it. So, looked into the new models. I'm not real impressed with the Toyota Safety stuff that wants to do things for you with the aim to keep you out of an accident. I think the extra beeps and light flashes are more of a distraction than a help.

I can drive just fine by myself, thank you ;) And I REALLY like this truck, it may be the last one I ever own.

Nothing like a new ride!
Best of luck with it.

(That said, I found Toyota CS to be worst when I had my 01 Tacoma. Hope you never need it.)
