I picked up a 586-3 today that looks to be fired very little. No wear for the most part and very little turn line. Of course I wanted to show it off. It is my first L frame. I have several N frames and stick to the heavier frames as I don't carry them anyway.

Anyway here are a few pictures

Thanks for sharing. The 586 4"ers are my absolute favorite overall S&W revolvers for appeal and shooter.
Congrats!

The "L" frames are built like a tank. They were made to handle the .357 magnum loads. Of course the .38 Specials are fun too.

Some people like the Ruger and say it is built heavier. I've yet to find that out. Of course I'm not a big fan of the Ruger's looks on a DA revolver.

Enjoy the 586. It's a nice looking one.

A friend and fellow forum member ran into one this morning in a shop on his way to our retired LEO annual qualification shoot. It had a .400 hammer and trigger and a red front sight insert. I'm pretty sure these aren't original. The action was a little stiff. I suspect the hammer and trigger didn't get a good fitting. There was one little flaw on the bluing. Other than that it was a nice revolver with a very nice holster for $480.00. We're gonna slick up the insides and make that hammer and trigger a little smother. It will make a nice shooter. Your 586 is one of my favorites. Shoot and enjoy.

What a beauty. I love the blue 586's for looks but they also feel great. They have become my favorite revolvers
