I've been wanting a belt fed for a while, so why not get the big 'un. The barrel you see on it is intergral suppressed. It's a RAMO build, not a side plate gun. Only has a few hundred rounds thru her. Of course it'll be about six months before I can pick it up since it's been taking that long for the ATF to process the paperwork.

Anyone shoot one before?

Cool as can be, the only problem I have as we shot my friend's water cooled 50 was $4.00 each time it went bang. It was always a hell of a lot more fun when uncle was buying the ammo.

I spent an afternoon shooting one in Army OCS. The range guys needed to burn up some ammo, so the Tach Officer asked for "Shugart and one other volunteer".

It's either single shot or full auto and it takes three guys and a mule to cock it.

They're awesome and I'm GREEN with envy.

I've got a camera like that only the last time I checked it was around $7.00 every time it went click.:o
(I don't use it anymore.)

Not in a long LONG time?
That looks like something that could eat you out of house and home!
I say apply immediately for some TARP bail out money. Then at least some of it will be going towards a useful cause?
CONGRATULATIONS!

"Anyone shoot one before?"

Yes, but it was about 35 years ago and she was mounted on a steel huled 40' patrol boat.

But it was fun, and a round in a 55 gallon drum with about a gallon of gasoline bouncing around in the waves was pretty dramatic!

Would you be looking at IWB, OWB, Shoulder holster, or pocket carry?;)

Very, very cool! Lots of luck with it. I would love to send a few rounds down range with one of those. Good luck with it and congrats on being able to fulfill a desire.

You could mount it on a remote controlled scissor lift in the bed of a pick-up and have some fun on the highways in big D (at least for a little while). :D

Been a few years. No way to know how many thousands of rounds I have sent down range with an M-2 since 1983.

I am in a signal unit now. No M-2's:(

That is awsome enjoy.

Let me dig through my stuff. I think I still have a TM, cleaning kit, headspace and timing gauge, and maybe a few spare springs. I finally sold my spare barrel last year.

I LOVE it!
Yep, long ago and far away.

I've always wanted an M-60, which the kids tell me has been superseded by the M-240 or something. It would have to be a helluva gun to beat a 60.........
I could draw pictures with a 60 back in tha day. ;)

I need to spring for one.........one day.......

been 16 years since i've even touched one. and like our fearless leader i enjoyed the m-60 much more. still a heckofa lotta' fun!

Shot a few hundred rounds while in the Army. But I carried it more than enough from the arms room to the motor pool. Just make sure the head space and timing are correct. If I remember correctly the gun(sans ammo) with tripod and t&e weights about 120 lbs. The 2 guns that I had assigned were made by AC Delco and Frigidaire

I've fired the M-2 from a ring mount on a 2 1/2 & 5 ton and they are a hoot. Also on the M-113 and a tripod with the T&E mech. It's amazing to think that JMB brought this weapon on line in something like the 20"s and it's still making history. Everything from tanks, planes, ground mounts, trucks, half tracks, sniper rifles to goodness knows what. A lasting weapon from a true American genius.

TV68,
I think that's a big portion of the reason most of us will roll around in the dirt, just to get a chance to shoot his near century old stuff!
