Broken Firing Pin 15-22

Don't know but I was shocked when they back ordered it, would think there would be a bin full of them somewhere.

Guess they want me to buy another rifle and have a spare just in case

I would call back and ask for a supervisor. I don't believe they don't have any. I bet if you send it in for repair, you'll have it back in a couple of weeks. :)

Surprising that as popular as the 15-22 is that no one has parts for it.

Got to have a license from S&W to make proprietary parts, such as the BCG. That, the upper, lower and barrel are about the only things that aren't directly replaceable with AR parts. Replacement barrels are available from at least one other company.

Contrary to what a lot of folks think, there are many firearms for which third-party parts are not available.

Shell doesn't that just *%##^*%#^^%#

"Authorized" third-party parts
That's different than making replacement parts.
Or my own proprietary parts for people to buy.

Just out of curiosity, if someone had said "not-authorized" firing pin in their firearm and something unrelated happened, and needed to send their firearm in for service but forgot to take that pin back out would that void a warranty?

Are broken firing pins common in the 15 22?.....If so I will get my friend the gunsmith to order me a few.

I have been shooting many many firearms for over 56 years and have never broken a pin.

I had a firing pin in a Colt AR-15 break.

Anything made by man can break.

Firing pin on 15-22 is broken, customer service says part is back ordered and will take weeks to get... Son has a match next sat. Anyone know where I can get a replacement?

What is your serial number pre-fix? It might help others to be on the look out, as perhaps that run of fireing pins had some metal fatigue......best regards Plum

Best part is that this is a proformance center model.

I know how yea feel about waiting a few weeks... I called em about the short 10rd mags... They told me they were out of stock and not on the list to be made... Might be a LONG time before they even think about making more

They made a run of them in late june/early july. check around and you may find them in stock someplace.

I ordered them from SW back in april (site said they had them ) and I got the 25rd right away, the 10s were on B/O. I saw on midways site an expected delivery of late June so I called SW first week of july and got them to send me 2. So they do, er, did, exits a few weeks ago.

Taurus, for one, does not authorize third-part parts for their firearms, except magazines.

For legal liability reasons they all say that. Every company that makes anything. I had a fast food restaurant manager ask me to throw out my kids food because it wasn't bought there and their explanation was 'we're liable for all food consumed on the premises and since we didn't cook that we can't let you eat it here".
Anal retentive to the max!
