I can't remember the last time I saw a revolver at the range other then the ones I bring. No one ever says a thing to me as no one talks to each other. As people pretend they are friendly in this part of the country but are really known for freezing people out that aren't already friends. I like shooting my metal autos as well but I prefer carrying plastic guns.

I remember a young range officer coming over to me one day, watching for a few minutes and saying "You always have the neatest toys." before moving back to his normal position. At the time I was shooting a reproduction "Man With No Name," open top Colt SA in 44 Special. I offered to let him fire a few, but he said he couldn't while he was working.
One day last week while I had a construction crew on the property my neighbor came over and asked me to help her lift her sister off the floor and put her into a wheelchair around 10 am (second time). As the crew was winding down, my OTHER NEIGHBOR absolutely frantically came over,,, he had left his mother who had fallen!!! EMS was on the way,, she was conscious.

Yesterday I was in the orange box store and when I turned around the isle I saw a man on his hands and knees with his head,, heading towards the floor! I yelled out,,might have scared him,, !!! I’m OK he said “.
I said, I didn’t know how you got down there!!!
He said, “I don’t know how I get up!!”
Edit, He was down there trying to read the price tag on the bottom shelf!
It seems that lately, everything I want to buy winds up on the bottom shelf.

Well, I'm heading for the range tomorrow and I don't know what's going to draw more attention? My 67-1, my new to me 4506-1, or my 63 ND. I'm thinking the 4506-1 because it's going to be the loudest and it's an indoor range. I'll let you all know.
Also these will most likely be the only all steel handguns on the firing line. I do own a Glock-17 Gen 5 that I am very good with. In NJ we are only allowed to have 10 round magazines so every round has to count.

I try to do a LEOSA qual at least twice a year just to keep up my card. Usually I do it with two different guns, a pistol of some format and a revolver, usually my M66. I did it with a custom.45 ACP (4") once and a younger officer commented about the "man's gun". I started LE with an M58 and 3 speed loaders.
I'm going out Wednesday as the temp is supposed to be around 60. Taking 17's, 18's, a 36, a 48, a 53, a 57, and a 29, oh, and My 475 Linebaugh. The ones that gather the most interest are the 53 and the Linebaugh. " What the heck are You shooting?" It's amazing how many have never heard of a '22 Jet', but once I show it They all think it's a 'neat' gun. I offer to let Them shoot the Linebaugh, but in 2 years I have had 2 takers. One shot a cylinder full (5) and one quit after one shot. Going to take them all out for Our spring 'open house'. Should be fun.

Same here.
Plus the younger urban generation relate revolvers to Law Enforcement. Now if I an shooting a 1911 pistol I have young men ask me if that is my "Army Pistol".

chief38,all that I shoot are my revolvers.I own 12 and shoot 2 of them a month.I have not seen another revolver shooter at my range in a long time.I haven't owned any semi auto since I retired in 05 and totally enjoy my time at the range with my wheel guns.When a group of 5 of us shoot our yearly LEOSA qualification I am the only one using a revolver and only one of us is younger than 65 and 3 of them don't even own a revolver any longer.Our youngest guy maybe 45 had to have me show him what a speed loader was and how it functioned.God bless our youth they don't know what they are missing.

Two 22LRs - a High Standard Double Nine and an Iver Johnson TP22
One 9mm - a Sig P365 (one of my main carry guns)
One 380acp - a KelTec P3AT (another one of my main carry guns)
So all total I took along 2 revolvers, and 4 autos, and 2 of those autos were all metal and 2 were poly-framed autos.
I like 'em all. All brands, all calibers, all types...

The LSG has its resident loafers of experts. They can tell you every aftermarket dodad made for AR & Glocks. When I go over to pick up a purchase, usually a S&W revolver I get a little of that dinosaur stuff with my 6 shooters. The other day I had a m52 come in and I told him I would come right down. The loafers were all waiting on me. When owner was booking in m52, make-serial-model-caliber he couldn’t understand that gun was a 38special. They all wanted to know how a 38sp was going to fit. They never heard tell of such a pistol. They heard of wadcutters but didn’t know special pistols where made for them.

Got a Union Local of those guy here too! I have had three pistols that shot .38 Special. First was a Colt .38 Super that had been modified to shoot .38 Special back in the 1960's, the second was a Colt Mid Range and the last is a M52-1. They got stares at the range!
Since I retired in Virginia and started qualifying HR218 at a new range I have yet to see another revolver shooter qualifying. This is in a 12 year period. The RO says he knows two others. I though geezer cops liked J frames.
I'm not to sure how many really carry because most of these guys have honkin big guns and you have to qualify with what you carry.

Early to mid 40's. As a matter of fact, the wife said she thought that revolvers were just the "old" guns and thought nobody much used them anymore. That range session changed her mind!
They definitely weren't afraid of the semi-auto's though. We met at our house a few times and they got to pick what they wanted to shoot. Also, going over range rules, firearm handling and such before we went to the range helped quite a bit with any anxiety they had...
I dunnow......Seems my feets are getting closer to the ground or my pants legs are getting longer.
Have you ever heard the cacophony of semiautomatic fire at indoor ranges? It is like the sound of insects at night in the woods. Everyone is shooting as fast and as often as they can. A lot of oohs and aahs from their friends and high fives. When it gets to be too much, I will load my .44 Magnum revolver with six heavy loads and rapid fire it. The flash of the rounds light up the range, and when done, just like in the woods, there is usually silence. Then heads begin looking down to see what just happened.
