Stumbled across this video on Youtube the other day, a commercial for Brownell's line of retro AR-15 rifles. Several rifles, Triangular hand guard A-1 rifles, copies of the XM-177 carbine, going back all the way to the Air Force green furniture AR's they bought in 1960.

I thought the video was very entertaining, retro cars, retro clothes and retro rifles. Sent my wife a link to the video, she watched it, and got all excited about finding a triangular hand guard A-1 rifle like we had in the 1980's, a Colt SP-1 we hunted jack rabbits with in California. Her excitement faded when she saw the price tag of the Brownell's rifles, like $1300. You can probably build one of your own or have one built for far less.

Here's a pic me me "Back in the Day", probably 1985, hunting jack rabbits around Barstow, California. Rifle is a Colt SP1.....

Years ago I was sitting at the counter of Denny's in Frederick, MD, and 4 people came in, dressed in complete 1970s stereotype regalia. I mean bell bottom pants on the guys and hoop earrings the size of saucers on one of the women. I just cracked up right there. The booths were all full and one of them asked nicely if I would move down a seat so they could all sit together. I moved over (I always do in those situations as I'm usually eating alone) and one of them told me that they were coming from an actual '70s party where everybody would have been dressed up like that. They definitely would have gotten an "A" for authenticity.
