I know this maybe should go in the ammo section but it only seems to be related to my 10 shot 617's.
This is first time I ever used Browning .22 ammo and it locks the cylinder on both my 10 shot 617's. The brass seems to expand from the rim to about .100" up the case on one side. This pushes the spent brass back to the frame and after 3 to 5 shots I can't pull the trigger.
I tried it in my model 63 and LCR and it still expands but doesn't lock it up. Also tried in my Buckmark and it works fine with no expansion ring.
I cut some empty brass apart and measured the thickness at the bullet end, several ammo brands are all about the same, .009" to .010" thick. Maybe they are stretching to much by the rim during manufacture making it weak, I couldn't measure there very easy.
I have used just about everything in my 617's and never had this happen before.
Anybody else experience this?
I guess I can't use Browning ammo in my most used guns.
