Browning SA22

I have always wanted one but the right FN never crossed my path at the price I was willing to pay. Miroku's never even crossed my mind, you know that thing about a Browning having Made in Japan written on it. Well I ate those words the other day when this '74 Miroku showed up at the LGS. It's not perfect but I told myself that it was an early one and it was only $350. It's been used but not abused, has dings and a few dents here and there and only one rub on the metal at the receiver. No rear sight but does have the cantilever mount. Those wheels started turning in my head and I said to myself you have the perfect scope for this at home still new in the box. I had my buddy put it away until the next day when I would go back and pick it up with new scope in tow. He gave me some steel rings that they had laying around, mounted and bore sighted the scope and I was good to go. The scope is a Bushnell 2 3/4 power Scopechief IV w/command post. I shot it yesterday and it is a tack driver.

The wood is really nice but it is hard to tell with the shiny stock reflecting back at you.

NICE!!!!.......One of the most svelte .22 auto's ever made.......I have a blond Belgian SA-22 that I bought new in 1968.......Still my favorite .22 auto.....Hope you enjoy many years with yours.

I have a mid '80s one I bought a few years ago. I really don't shoot it enough and I was thinking about selling it... until the last time I took it to the range. Even with iron sights and my less than stellar eyesight i was drilling the center of the target at 25 yards.

I have one of the old Belgian "wheel sight" rifles. I have enjoyed the old SA's since I was about 12 years old, and the old Belgian is one of my favorites. The more you shoot yours, the better you'll like it. One hint, though. Don't wear long sleeves when you shoot it. It'll shuck a hot empty right up your left sleeve sooner or later, and that will be very distracting!

As someone who owns two Miroku versions, one early, and one later, I really don't believe that there is any difference in the quality of Browning firearms between Miroku and FN. I've owned the older Miroku for nearly forty years, and must say that it is my go to squirrel getter. It ain't as pretty as it once was, but it'll get the job done. Enjoy yours, as it's a fun gun to own.......

Miroku makes some nice Browning's, I have seen a lot of .22s and BLRs.

I still have my Belgian .22 SA purchased new in 73 when I was only 16 (Ah the good old days) It listed for $52 back then. Even at that young age I did a lot of business with that dealer and he gave me the gun for $50 and threw in a 50 box of ammo. In that innocent time I bought the gun with no sales tax or forms to fill out!

I am soooo jealous! Beautiful rifle, I've always wanted one, but could never afford it. Around here, used, even slightly abused, folks want $500.00 - $600.00+ for them.

I bought an FN one a couple of years ago and from what I can tell by the serial number, it was made around 1969. I don't shoot it enough, but as mentioned, when I do, it is a tack driver and a lot of fun. Besides making sure to wear short sleeve shirts when shooting, also do not wear sandals or flip flops. I have heard those cases don't feel too good on the tops of the feet!

I also have a Belgian Browning T-Bolt with a scope and talk about a lot of fun to shoot! That rifles is an unbelievable tack driver.

I have heard the Japanese made SA22s are very nice as well. Enjoy it.
