How old do you think this young buck is?

Just going on body size 3 1/2 yr old. I snapped this pic through my window a couple of weeks ago.

How early in the season can it be? Not a hint of velvet on antlers plus neck is swelled up for the rut.

Maybe 2 1/2 years but more likely 3 1/2 years old.

Two by almost 3, probably a two year old. They don't get any brains until they are 3 or 4....

IMHO, given his body development and size, he is in his third year. Next year he will have a very nicely developed three major tines on each side. ......

I had a Buck come through my lot with at least ten does he had more points than I could count maybe 18? Let him go spread his dna.

Haven't seen deer around here in years, though. They've been pushed out by loss of habitat and greedy developers.

However, if he was in Northern Illinois out in the corn fields that I hunt, he would be about 2 1/2 years old.

Help me out here. The deer my neighbor in vt has the head mounted have larger size chests over the same size deer mounted in ct? Why are they different. The deer pictured here has a large chest too.

Deer in NJ and CT know they are relatively safe from hunters. Deer in hunter friendly states hold their chests in to present smaller targets.
