Bucket, wish, want, gotta have it list?

There are always a few that I am hoping to find, but I don't generally seek the out specifically. My list is...

pre-lock 625
640 pro
pre-lock 610
pre-lock 686 ( saving up for a 686 no dash with the long tube now...local guy has it )

Honestly I just take things as they come along. I found a 460 XVR a few years ago that wasn't at all on my radar, but I couldn't pass it up for the price the guy had on it.

It may sound heretical but I don't have a single gun I want to add to the herd. I have found my grail guns and the last custom revolver is getting close to finished. Time to focus on casting, reloading and GASP! shooting!

Ok......so I've got about 28 S&W Revolvers and Semi-autos. It's probably more than I need too but I still want more. Just like the fat German kid in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Due to Australian gun laws, I'm careful about what I buy, what is collectible, what brings me joy, and what might be an OK investment. So, still on my S&W list are;-

- model 10/64 HB 4"
- model 586/686 with 6" barrel and a 2 1/2" barrel
- model 14-5 or 14-6 with 4" barrel (might need to cut down a 6")
- model 29 with 6 1/2" barrel
- model 29/629 with 4" barrel
- model 15 with 2" barrel
- model 12 with 2" barrel
- model 39-2
- 1917 Model
- Victory Model
- M&P 327 / R8

I know......I'm greedy. With interest rates so low, I tell my wife it's better than putting money in the bank. Lol.

I never forgot your failed Python debacle TTSH. Am hoping Santa delivers a N.I.B. unfired shiny blue one and leaves it under your Xmas tree. No guy deserves it more. Happy Holidays!
Thanks my friend. :) But remember what my back-up plan was to the Python. It was an early Model 586. And guess what? :D Earlier this month, I scored a 99% 4" Model 586 (No Dash) with two pristine perfect sets of S&W wood grips (target & combat). :)

In other words, I no longer need or want a Python.

That said, I seriously doubt I'll ever come across a Python again that is in as good a shape as the one I found and lost. It was worth every penny that they were asking for it. I just couldn't raise that much money quickly enough. :o

The 442 has my interest up. Have not had a wheel gun since the Model 19 snub.
Be careful and try before you buy. Remember that I didn't and the gun (442-1) wouldn't even work right out of the box. Yes, S&W CS apparently fixed the defect, but the gun came back with cosmetic damage that I could not live with in a brand spanking new gun. :( I dumped it at a cool $100 loss just to get rid of it. :o Learn from my costly mistake and try before you buy any brand new S&W revolver. :o

As far as S&Ws are concerned-

One of the 500 blue 29-3 5" guns mfg'd for Hill Country Dist in 1989 (full lug, unfluted) and even though it doesn't fall into the 1980-present category- one of the 1914 1st Model HEs in .455 with British or Canadian Service WW1 provenance.

My list is not extensive, or anywhere near exotic, but here it is:
S&W Model 29. Any dash number so long as it's pre lock, ful lug or standard. I only need one to get the model 29 band wagon started.
Next up is a S&W 586 any dash, pre lock, 6 inch barrel.
Model 25 .45 acp. Oh and the money to pay for them. Simple really!

Still on the lookout for a 629-4 backpacker. Also really want a 657-3 of some sort, longer the barrel the better. I would really like a 13-4 three inch too. Other than that I just buy them as I see fit

Current grail gun? Full lug model 14.

On the radar? .38 special chambered model 640 and 649.

Of course, there are certainly others out there that I don't know I want (yet)...

Have been blessed with regard to finding those elusive ones.

As Bob L. said so well tastes change over time. After many years of serious chasing antique LE badges I came back to guns and the brand I used the most in my career.

Started out with RMs , got to 5 and then heard Skeeter reminding me about .44 Specials . 1950 military 4 inch pre 24 4 inch and other great ones. Taste shift again to just plain old hard to find Smith's. Model 45 ,model 10-10 Brazilian , .32 M&P ,16-4 , 632 Pro series, ect. Each time that taste changed treasures would be released to fund new interest.

Remember though we are all mortal and our time is short. As temporary caretakers we are bound to care for these treasures and we hope future generations will do the same.

Ps still looking for a 19 3inch with fixed sights .

Thanks to those great folks here on this forum who have shared their vast knowledge and at times let me care for and feed some of their prized revolvers.

MY interest also keep changing and shifting and expanding etc etc.
Right now my grail guns would be:
Pre 27 3.5" Barrel
pre 19 2.5" barrels
Hungarian FEG Frommer STOP in .32ACP / 7.65mm
Sig P220 pre 1985 in 38 super and 30 Luger (7.65 para)

I have 3" 66s and 65 but......... would love to have a 3" 19.....But IIRC only about 500 were built in the 70s............

Guess some fixed sighted 19s were made for export to France and South America......................

Another; that was never built..... a 3" 65NL... or better yet a 13NL..... like the 3913NLs.

Mine isn't that specific, just general.

1. Something shiny (nickel)
2. Something 8 3/8ths

I have neither. 1 gun could scratch both itches, or perhaps not.

Nope. My lusting days are over. The last and only Smith I wanted was a Model 28, which I found earlier this year...with the box. I should see off about my former grail guns.

Broomhandle Mauser.

Maybe a Sig P210.

I've got pretty much everything else I want.

I think I got those covered.:D

Got mine: Nickel Colt .45 SAA, 3rd Gen. (1999) unfired, no turn line.

No, I don't plan on shooting it

Mine is not nickel(don't fancy shiny much, makes my eyes hurt).

3rd generation first year production(1978). It has been shot(not much I admit that).:D Does not have a turn line either. The Colt SAA is not a Smith & Wesson, it only makes a turn line if you don't know what you are doing.

I would like to replace the 2" model 64 I foolishly traded off. And;
3.5" model 27
4" model 24
Sig 220 10mm

My wants are pretty simple, I'll even list a replacement model 10, like the one I gave to Sis. (just in case Santa reads the forum, which I'm sure he does)

Manurhin MR73
Ruger Deerstalker 44 Mag carbine
S&W Mod 69
S&W Mod 329

just got my first single action so I'm sure some more of those will be added to the wishlist

I'm right there with you on the first two.

You can have the 329[emoji57]

I've had enough "grail" guns over the years and gotten over them, it's just not the same. Still if I could pick three just to have and enjoy..

Manurhin M73 5" (Think the GIGN connection is neat)

Smith 625 3" 45 acp (Fun plus character in a book series I liked used one)

Smith Registered 357 magnum 3 1/2" (just love that look!)
