So Mrs Raljr1 and I are staying at The Vendue in Charleston, SC on our way home from Florida...or Chaaahston to you locals....and behind the bar in this lovely hotel bar, is a tiger covered in bullets.. funny thing is that the lady who did the art, also did a rhino and a lion. And supposedly, she did it as a protest against hunting of endangered species, except that she bought so many cartridges, that she supposedly ended up on a watch list...urban legend, but funny still.

Just one correction to your great post and that way-cool tiger, Robert.

To the locals, it's "Chucktown.";)

Hope you and the missus can spend a few days there. It's a fun town.

The weather was terrible and we were on our way from Florida back to Pittsburgh. We only overnighted, but will be back in March to spend a few days.... we have several friends in the area.

Wanted to move there when I retired. Took the Boss down for a 4 day look see. It was 102F every day. That didn't go over well. Great town though and I love the park by Vendue Range. Have to check out that bar next time.

Been to Charleston many times, and love that place. I've yet to see that tiger, however. I'll look it up next time.

The Confederate submarine (USS Hunley) really fascinates me. Those were some real men who climbed into that thing and shut the lid.
